hah thanks, it was pretty rough this weekend tbh. lots of internet issues and the entire A/V set up was on my shoulders so I was pretty stressed. alls well that ends well though.

i absolutely love darry and magus on the mic, they crack me up but i see why others maybe arent into them -- i guess. that said, james chen is really good on the mic cuz he can honestly commentate with anyone. didnt matter if it was me or juicebox or mike ross or what. he has a crazy work ethic. love that guy.

I'd look at it this way. You have like somewhere between 20-50 assholes who like to troll or complain, and then you have between 5,000-10,000 that are loving it, because they're not saying a thing. You did a great job man. Thanks again for running it.

I realized what day today was, and came straight here for the Makoto & Blanka changes, and I felt good. I don't feel bad at all!

Makoto improved oh-so nicely although she still has no wake-up game but I've lived with that for so long and didn't expect anything there anyways... and they barely roughed up Blanka - I expected worse - I especially like the new F+MP possibilities and EX Electricity changes, but I might miss sliding under fireballs with all the time in the world to do so, but of course I'll have to see how short & quick the slide actually is for myself.

Oh and she finally got that 1000 health which she should have from day one, so that change doesn't really feel like much difference.

Abel cr.HP was unnecessary, and as good as Breathless was, it got hit on all fronts like Elf Ultra Spark did - damage, start-up, recovery, but the armor while moving too? Ouch. But it still doesn't hurt him nowhere near as much as El Fuerte though, Abel still has his (slightly weaker) U1 to fall back on, Fuerte is just praying for someone to whiff big time now.

hah yeah i was thinking about that the other day. i think we're actually the longest running live stream to date now. i mean, for legit events and what not. not trying to gloat or anything, its just cool to look back at our first NCR to now. its like completely different.

She has no wake up options besides the potential 1-2 chances from the ultra. They should have at least given ex spiral more invincibility or given the orbs more damage. What about it warrants a nerf? The development team never really explained why it got nerfed either, they just said for the sake of balance it must be nerfed.

I like Magus and Darry. Enjoy their banter and randomness. Only issue is that they sometimes get completely off track and not focus on the actual match. It can really take away the hype when there's a disconnect between the commentary and the action on screen. They would be a great duo to fill in the gaps during the breaks. Make fun of people, tell tourney stories, and generally be themselves.

I didn't watch too much of NCR, but I liked what I did see. Great job haunts and crew.

What moves make a crouching opponent stand on hit?

I'm not sure if too many characters have it, but Cody c.HP and Bison c.HP force opponent to stand on hit. Cody can of course go into more stuff while Bison only has a super cancel. And I think they are giving Balrog something to force a stand on hit as well, so that could make for some decent frame traps into s.LP into c.HK untechable knockdowns for him.

I'm sure there are a few other characters that may have a fierce attack that does the same.

Thanks for the additions anotheriori. I did however moves some names from the first list to the second and remove some altogether. Some of the players have too much an even split between multiple characters to make the list.

MarlinPie is kind of tricky, since he was pure Viper until several months ago, when he made the switch to (almost) 100% Cammy. I still put him on the second list though.

And on the force stand discussion, are there any applications to it beyond something like cr.HP > Tatsu? Beyond landing specials that whiff on crouchers, I don't really see much to it. If I were to guess something, it would be that standing characters have less pushback than crouching ones (that's the case on block, I'd assume it applies on hit as well).

I was testing stuff out when you were playing Rose, probably why everything seemed repetitive. I was trying to see why overhead, RH only punished wakeup backdash sometimes, trying to see if I could reversal soul spiral after a blocked canceled cMP, etc. I almost never get to play rose, which is why I begged you to swap. I don't use SRK or anything, so most of my data comes from fights and training.

Funny, most of Ryder's character picks have been various one-off attempts at counterpicking MarlinPie, whose Cammy has been beating Ryder's Abel pretty consistently for a while. He did randomly pick Adon and Cammy against some other players, though.
