Yes, he's def gonna do that. He wrote a paper describing what a Trump presidency looks like back in 1999. Very little has changed since then. Some things we might see in the ge, like his promising to be a 1 term president and other shenanigans. He also promised to slick back his hair to reveal his final form, like he's liquid snake or something.

The debates are going to be amazing.

Clinton v Trump debates will being in highest ratings for a debate ever.

a Trump independent run if they try to rob him of the nomination would be so sweet

You just know he'd cut a promo and tear that pledge up on stage if they tried to fuck him over, then Christie would come out and cut another promo, and people would love it.

haha gotta love NeoGAF telling you to dump your girl just because she's a Republican lolol

To be fair, they were telling him to lose the girlfriend because of her values, not who she voted for.

Given that serious relationships are often based on shared values, that's not an entirely unreasonable piece of advice to give.

Voting Bernie.

Looking forward to the swarm of smug passive aggressive condescension that will descend upon me like a thick soup of fog.

Voting Hil if she wins the nom. I'm not a fucking idiot, Bernie just represents my interests more. No way I'd ever not vote or vote a Repub if he drops out though.

I would literally vote for an albino squirrel with a rifle and a cigar over Donald Trump. I'd vote for chewing gum over Donald Trump. We got your back no matter who the Dems nominate

I'm a Bernie guy, but I will admit, Clinton will annihilate Trump in debates.

Probably, but it's not like anything Hillary has to say will matter one way or the other. It probably is more important that she avoid saying anything to piss off her base than it is to win an argument with Trump, because that's literally impossible and irrelevant to Trump supporters.

Clinton was a rock during the latestBenghazi hearing, she isn't likely to be phased by Trump's zingers and insults as much as his Republican cohorts were.

She's been dealing with them since the early 90's so no, I doubt she'll break as easily as the republican field did.

I went in and voted at around 11:30 in south GA. There was a crowd there but it was fairly in and out. I voted for Bernie even though my state will likely go for Hillary and very likely go Republican in the main election.

Trump will flip the script and be completely courteous and reasonable in debates during the GE.

The guy doesn't have an eloquent bone in his body. I can't see him sounding like anything but an idiot. And it's better to sound like a raging idiot than a calm idiot like Carson.

During the GE debates he'll have to do more than just attack and yell. He'll have to detail plans and policy. If he takes the stance he does now in those sorts of debates I can see independents tuning him out.

Trump falls apart on substance in debates unless he's talking about trade. Primary debates work better for him because they are less structured and are easier to slide in insults. The GE debates aren't built for ratings like the primary debates are, so Trump will have to actually be more substantiative on issues.

She's not a particularly great debater (or campaigner really), and being a rock during a debate isn't exactly an appealing quality for a debate.

I'm sure she'll do fine ultimately, but if you think she's going to decimate Trump doing the debates, you may be in for a surprise. The media wants a shitshow (hi CBS!) and they'll certainly do what they can to get one.

I don't particularly either way, as watching the debates are pretty insufferable if you halfway follow politics.

How do you not see independents turning him down already after everything he's said so far? He's not going to do a 180 on all the horrible shit he's promised so far. If anything he'll just detail how he's going to pull it off.

And people say Bernie supporters are full of wishful thinking. Oof.

The media may want a shitshow. But when it comes to voting on a President I'm sure a lot of people won't buy that act. You gotta do more than attack and yell. You gotta detail policy. If Trump brings this to GE debates I can assure you plenty of moderate republicans won't buy that shit.

Yeah, it's a helluva lot easier to blend-in with a debate field of 5 people than it is to perform at the high level required of a two-person debate. If he tries any of his usual vague circus bluster while Hillary is detailing relationship dynamics among the various tribes in {insert region here}, the Dems will be able to paint him as wholly unprepared and unequipped for the job.

I can see him changing stance, I can't see him changing how he gets his stances accross. He'll repeat the same short soundbites over and over again at the top of his voice and end every point with "We'll make america great again".

Our relationship is troublesome. She broke it off a few times due to me being anti-religion. She claims there can only be one God, and since I did not see the light of her God I had to go.

I've made a few threads about it. We don't share the same religious values or political values
It's a trainwreck. Not for this topic..

Still good to vote. Who knows, maybe we'll be a swing state in coming years.

That no longer works in the GE.
Trump should be interesting to watch because he's kind of caught between a rock and a hard place if he wins the nomination. On one hand, he should keep doing what made him so successful, but on the other hand, that tactic doesn't quite work in a general election. He'll be forced to pivot and it's up for debate whether or not a new approach will help or harm him in the polls.

Hillary is one of the strongest debaters in American politics. What are you talking about?

In MA can I not vote if I'm registered as independent? I forgot to switch to undeclared before the deadline.

MA allows independents to participate in the primaries. You can only choose between the parties however, not both.

Donald Trump is in Louisville, it's raining, and the last home college basketball game is tonight. RIP downtown traffic

If Trump has shown anything, it's that he'll grandstand and do what he wants regardless of what the effect is. If the GE starts going differently than the primaries are I expect him to just double down on what he's already doing.

James Carville is married to a Republican.

Explain that.

Come through queen.

I can understand people voting Clinton in the general, but going for her now is only slightly more progressive than going for Rubio or something. Sure she's progressive on social issues, but unless you are a rich 1%er who benefits from the the belittlement, abuse and devaluing of the common, middle-class man, she really doesn't have your interests in mind.

Also, a more general question, why do people call her "queen"? This level of worship is bound to create a personality cult that even Stalin would envy.
