Oh god, the Normal mission on the 2nd to last World Tour stage is FRUSTRATING. I'm gonna have to give in & use an extremely high Break Shield without the benefit of EXP bonus.
Only 4 more missions left. Kind of feel like the last set of missions should've been unlocked a bit later instead of atwhich kind of feels a bit low.55
Food for thought. How many of the classic DJMAX (as in, the online service, pre-Portable) tracks do you remember that don't have BGA?
Genuinely curious as to whether people form stronger associations/differentiation when there's visual stimulus and a story to go with each piece of music.
edit: Well, that's kind of a stupid question. Of course people do. I guess a better way to phrase it is, how much value does BGA add?
Yes, it is. & the first two songs are BRUTAL. At least with the 95% judgment mission on the final stage, it's only THREE. That mission should've easily been the Hard on the final stage.
I'm starting to wonder if using the analog sticks makes it harder due to the speed to which you have to switch between them & the buttons/d-pad & the weirdness of using one analog stick while the other hand is trying to use buttons.
& for those who haven't unlocked it yet, you have to get 95% on THESE, all on 6Trax:
- Voodoo Groo
- Matador
- March of Fear
- Stargazer
- Dimension Detonator
I can talk about my experience with Cytus as a different game with no BGAs, though. It's not the deepest game by a long shot, but I kept coming back to it and buying the new updates because every track sounded like it was chosen to be memorable. Nothing revolutionary, but nothing sounded cheap and they never overrelied on any artists.
Oh thank goodness, this should make it a bit more tolerable to figure out if I should bother continuing. Looks like they haven't been able to figure out the score yet. Feel like 90% would've been a bit more tolerable. It seems some users on twitter are trying to get the "minimum score" to finish each song, so you don't have to go through the entire mission for a defeat. it's worth to try.

Man.. the judgement seems kinda strict sometimes. I'm going through songs in Free Style to get S+ or S++ rank.
EDIT: After reading the above, don't think I can get the Platinum unlike Technika Tune. 95% on those songs, is just not possible for me.
Interesting. From what I've played on Hard, I kind of felt that the judgement was actually pretty lenient. Coming from P4D, I'm pretty scared to miss any note since that game punishes the player hard for every miss, so when I miss a bunch and I end up getting S or S+ at the end of a song, I'm rather surprised.
Don't you think less than a week is a little quick to pass judgement on your taper-off point in a music game? ;p
What speed are you playing at btw?
Yeah maybe so.
Playing 2 to 2.5.
I probably wouldn't do that well, relatively.
What finger/thumb does everyone use to flick the sticks? I've been playing this on and off since it released and I still hate using the sicks. Maybe I need to put more time in for it to click, but I'm so bad at flicking while there is a ton of stuff going on at once.
Anyone planning to set up a GAF competition for this? It'd be neat to see how people score amongst each other here though, looking at this:

I use my thumbs. I'm getting a bit more used to it, but it's still a rather unpleasant input, especially when I need to hold the sticks and alternate directions.
Making huge progress after lots of practice. I switched to touch screen and the game works so much better for me.
I think I'll give touch controls a try tonight and see if it feels/works any better for me.
Touch controls works pretty well for easier stuff, but I wouldn't touch any of the harder 6FX with touch controls.
What's the last song to unlock?
Are they all unlocked by leveling?
I actually have graphics prepared to do this in the future, but I figured I would wait until the DLC schedule is known so there could be prizes.
On which diff.? 4Trax took some time, but oh man, some of the stuff you'll see in 6Trax FX.Awesome. Those are always an excuse to get better. I tried out Stargazer for the first time and almost cried.

I tried 6Trax FX on Hard first, then went to 6Trax on Hard, then stopped trying.
Why did you start on hard? That's seems really frustrating when you are still adapting to the game.
Nope, I love it. I don't ascribe to the idea of slowly working one's way up to something. I will always start at the highest difficulty I can for a game like this; jumping into the pool without testing the waters.
Yeah, same. I'm still struggling with 10+ bar 6Trax songs. Can't even fathom beating some 6FX tracks without like 3 breaks in a row yet.I don't think I would be able to clear any of the harder tracks on 6FX (other than Stargazer) on hard mode lol. I break way too much, and it doesn't help that my L button is kinda shit.
The manual says that a DJ's "Recovery" property pertains to the "Groove meter," but there is no Groove meter. I'm guessing that just means the power gauge.
Just got the game today and am absolutely loving it. Great sound track, and tons of fun to play.
My only question is, how do I unlock the next set of stages in World Tour? I thought I'd played well enough to unlock, or do I need to be a higher level? I think I am currently level 8 or 9 atm.
