I know your general complaint, but it's fun to play script doctor here.
So in your version of events, do you think that Ultraman and Engineer would lose against Lantern and Hawkgirl? This is assuming Terrific is too busy to fight due to stopping the tear.
Also, do you feel that Metamorpho would risk a second fight against Lex considering he lost once before and Lex held his child hostage?

They don't know that at the time and we're basing it off our impression of how powerful everyone is. All they really need to do is keep him occupied while Terrific does his thing anyway. Let's also remember UM is moreso built to counter Superman specifically than to deal with multiple other heroes at once. Besides superman putting an end to the conflict shouldn't take long so flying back to Metropolis for clean up shouldn't be a big deal.

Guy has a giant ego so I'm sure he would be willing to give it a shot regardless.
GL could EASILY take both of them. He can just trap them in a sphere and dump them in a river or out into space.
Hell, ultraman is highly dependent on these VERY OBVIOUS drones to give him commands, so Mr. Terrific could ace him no problem, GL as well by just destroying the drones and then dealing with dumb brute strength. Hawkgirl is the only real variable because her power set is nebulous. If she has a Nth metal mace then presumably it would be VERY effective at shocking the shit out of nanites, so the Engineer would be toast as well.
Obviously the Justice Gang ISN'T a threat to Lex and his crew, else he would have made plans to deal with them as well but he seems to not even acknowledge their existence even though Mr. T one shotted his entire base. So either Lex is blinded by his rage/lust/jealousy/attraction/fear of superman or he had some capability to deal with them that we just never saw.

Not directly movie related but Gunn shared a news link last week that the movie's release caused an uptick in pet adoption interest:

But yeah, if putting pets in a movie is what it takes for more people to adopt pets, then more directors need to do so!

Best Superman since Reeves. I just wish he was in a better movie.
The humour didnt work at all. I didnt hear one laugh in the whole session. Just embarassing.
There were some great scenes, like Papa Kent and Clark talking or Superman monologue to Lex about humanity ... But, both moments were ruined by having a joke right after. Cause of course.
Loved Clark/Superman. The nee actor nailed it.
6/10 movie. I preffer Man of Steel over this, no joke.

After a second view with my son it really is one of the stupid movies I can remember in recent history.. its like it was made literally for retards. The abundance of ridiculous exposition, the infantile motivations of the villain and even worse his crew, the utterly stupidity of the us government , the ridiculous war crises between 100 people nations, the absolutely cartoony (bad cartoony btw) characters , the paper thin forced plot.

There is a thread on page 1 and I don't think there is any way that it would bomb. RT score is very high and many are excited about Fantastic Four coming to MCU. Also its the fourth FF movie so they are well known. I wouldn't be suprised if it does better than this. I hope both do well.

Man, seeing him, talking about perfect casting. It was almost like he was Christopher Reeves without even trying. Wasn't a huge fan of Supes Returns, but he did justice to playing Reeves' Superman.

F4 is tracking the same as Superman for OW, but is looking more front loaded and possibly have a steeper 2nd week drop. We'll know by Tuesday how F4's legs will fare.
Superman on the other hand is currently tracking to come very close to, or even surpass The Batman's total domestic run of $369m, putting it in the Top 5 highest grossing DC films domestically.
America is deeply unpopular right now, and Superman is viewed as the quintessential American Hero. More so than Captain America. CBMs being much less popular than they used to be Overseas is the biggest factor here, but anti-american sentiment in probably isn't helping either.

I knew as I was watching it that overseas that it was going to a struggle. It's very oddly structured and really doesn't fit the model of how Superman is usually treated in live action. Which seems to be on purpose. I mean not having a shirt rip moment is a very calculated move if ask me.

On par with Superman domestically. Slightly better in Europe and even worse in Asia.

Ok but not everyone prefers the "Man wrestling with being a God" approach to Superman, which is mostly why the title of that video is stupid. Saying he's objectively better. That seems like even more of an ignorant statement to make when Superman 2025 is having better legs than Man of Steel. People are connecting more with David's version. For the record I like both Henry and David's version of Superman, the problem is while I think Zack's approach was interesting in concept, the excecution left a lot to be desired.

At 100-150 mill at the top end budget, a domestic 400-500 mill take at the BO is a smash success. When they blow up the budget to 250-300 mill+ then they need a billion worldwide and there are a LOT of compromises to the film to make it palatable to as wide an audience as humanly possible...which tends to lead to bland unexciting choices.

So yeah my showing was packed with young people taking their parents and grandparents to see it. Word of mouth is doing it's thing for sure. One lady specifically said that she liked it better than man of steel because Clark was more human. As messy as the film is it definitely succeeded in rehabbing the character at least.

Trust me, someone once told me, in earnest, to kill myself because I enjoyed The Last Jedi. Like fully described to me how I should do it and why. I'm not under any delusion about toxic fandoms, in fact, after Episode IX, I stopped watching ANY Star Wars, new or old, for years (until Skeleton Crew brought me back in) because that along with so many people telling me I'm an insult to the fans and "can like the movie, but can't claim it's good" and all this shit wore me down. But there reaches a point where frequency of extreme behavior is noteworthy. Who here is going to claim the Ninja Turtles fandom is more toxic than the Star Wars fandom, for example?
That doesn't change the fact that I've seen extreme behavior from the more "dedicated" Snyder fans compared to just about any other director's fans. I'm sorry if you hate that people acknowledge they exist, but I'm not going to sit here and pretend their extreme behavior is totally normal.
It's not like that "proves" which films are better. I'm sure Snyder himself is disgusted the way some of these unhinged people behave. I'm criticizing those people, not him. Yes, I criticize some of his movies, some more than others (Sucker Punch was awful to me), but I have no issues with the man himself.
If you don't want to be compared to these extreme individuals, stop focusing on them so much. Especially because going, "okay, but look at how THIS person acted!" doesn't negate shitty behavior from said extreme individuals. If anything, if you prefer Snyder's work, you should logically focus on criticizing the Snyder "fans" who act this way, as they are doing his work a disservice by in any way being connected to it. If you legitimately believe Snyder's work with DC in any shape or form has a chance to continue, then it makes sense for you to focus on calling out those who act like extreme jackasses about it, as such behavior is only hurting said chances.
Honestly, when they were considering a Sgt. Rock film, I think Snyder would be a reasonable choice for something like that. Maybe Swamp Thing, though I would prefer James Mangold if that deal works out.

Well, that's not fully true.
James Gunn has also said he'd be thrilled to work with Henry Cavill in the DCU.
Gunn also said he was totally blindsided when he was hired, he said WB was fully aware of his plans on casting a new, younger actor for Superman, and then he gets hired and WB is all, "uh, actually, for some reason, we promised Cavill he could come back as Superman, I dunno why we agreed to such two different things, so rather than us doing our jobs and telling Cavill, can you do it?" James refused the option to just email Cavill and did sit down with him personally to deliver the bad news.
Gunn made it very clear he was not happy about the situation, and while he wasn't going to compromise his vision, he hated that Cavill was given false promises (likely pushed by Dwayne Johnson) and things had to turn out the way they did.
Honestly, while I think Kyle Chandler is a good pick for Hal Jordan, the age has me worried and I hope they don't just kill him off soon and just leave it at Guy and John (and likely Kyle). Hal has too many good stories and character bonds to lose him so quickly. I think Cavill could do a great Hal, it'd be different from the characters I've seen him play but he could probably do it. If they do kill Hal off, I'm hoping they later resurrect him in a younger body (thus a new, younger actor like Cavill compared to Chandler) so the character can last longer. Heck, during the time he is dead, they could do a Spectre movie as Hal was the host for Spectre while he was dead, that would be hype.
