Nah, they only said it wasn't official.Wasn't Nintendo saying wasn't real?
and why would Genki get access to the Switch 2 to produce accessories for the Switch 2 without signing a NDA![]()
The only consumers knowing about all of this is like 0.005%.I understand trying to protect IP, but at this point.. the cat is long since out of the bag, Nintendo. Just a waste of money and consumer goodwill.
I thought about mention that at the end (those who know). I agree completely with you, still a waste of money at this point in the game though! The only consumers knowing about all of this is like 0.005%.
This is the reality. Only people who are terminally online know and care about this. The only consumers knowing about all of this is like 0.005%.
The reason I'm not buying any consoles from themI hate no other corporation in gaming as much as I hate Nintendo. Not Square, not even fucking Ubisoft because who gives a shit about them. They have some great creative people (just like square), but their whole management and executive branch can just fuck right off.
Genki built the success of their company creating Switch accessories, I personally supported a bunch of their kickstarts and have most of their products.
I don't understand the "we did nothing wrong we didn't sign an NDA".

I have never been involved in creating 3rd party hardware/accessories, but if Genki has hardware on site to build new accessories they very MUCH have an MSA in place with NOJ that restricts them from releasing information obtained from private sources (dev documentation, sdk's, etc).
Wasn't Nintendo saying wasn't real?
Ah, yeah I should have used the word "test" instead of build...just keying off the portion in the OP about them having hardware on site. No, you can be an unofficial accessory provider
How they got to base anything of their accessories on, is probably from CAD leaks of the switch 2 that happened months ago. They could still be wrong.

How true is this, at all? It just takes one giant account on X™ to post about it to have thousands of normal people knowing about it.This is the reality. Only people who are terminally online know and care about this.
I highly doubt any of this is real. Nintendo won't approach the booth, they'll cut them off at CES itself.I thought about mention that at the end (those who know). I agree completely with you, still a waste of money at this point in the game though!
I'm not a weirdo! I'm birdo. How true is this, at all? It just takes one giant account on X™ to post about it to have thousands of normal people knowing about it.
Now, I don't know if that was the case with these leaks, but it's kind of delusional to think that these things cannot reach out to more mainstream audiences outside of weirdo forums.
C'mon Genki is clearly in the wrong here. A company has every right to control how a new product gets revealed.I hate no other corporation in gaming as much as I hate Nintendo. Not Square, not even fucking Ubisoft because who gives a shit about them. They have some great creative people (just like square), but their whole management and executive branch can just fuck right off.
Another delusional take. No, you don't need Elon Musk for something to go viral on X™. And no, you don't need to be online 24/7 to catch up on these kind of ""news"" if they happen to be spread out from big accounts.Unless Elon Musk tweets about this, no one cares. Online is not real life.
Give me one account that can make this big. Not only that, make people care. Thing is, Switch 2 is prob not that much on people's radar, even the Apple leaks which are reported in media all the time don't make big headlines.Another delusional take. Plenty of them, I don't use X™ a lot so I don't care to remember their names.Give me one account that can make this big. Not only that, make people care. You need people to actually care about Switch 2 enough, and I don't think people do.
nintendo deserve it. they tried to milk another year of xmas sales. should've announced the Switch 2 months ago.
They happen months in advance when apple reveals their products in Sep. People knew about M4 MacBooks and MiniMac 4-5 months in advance before they were revealed. Same with every new iPhone.Plenty of them, I don't use X™ a lot so I don't care to remember their names.
You really think people wouldn't care about a first look to Nintendo's next console? It deosn't really matter if they didn't knew about the console beforehand (in response to the console not being that much on people's radar as you said), but the follow-up to a extremely popular product geting a look ahead of reveal is big internet material, and just hearing about it is a big deal in itself.
BTW, Apple leaks are *widely* known when they happen, people just won't make it as big of a deal as they happen just like a week before reveal. Every. Single. Year.
Was confused with the Apple timeline, gotcha. They happen months in advance when apple reveals their products in Sep. People knew about M4 MacBooks and MiniMac 4-5 months in advance before they were revealed. Same with every new iPhone.
The general public just doesn't care, it's tech for them, until they see it in stores or Apple announces them and gives them a timeline to pre-order.
Maybe some people will care about the Switch, but it's really the software that sells it.
It might be of consequence of a certain small part of the audience, but shit that gets posted on Twitter is usually not of consequence for a product launch. The things that got leaked, Nintendo's competitors already knew long before. And Nintendo themselves knew that this would get leaked. And "controlling" the marketing message for the masses is still easily doable. I rather think that Nintendo's marketing departments are pretty happy about it because it generates hype (again, to a limited audience) without them having to do anything. How true is this, at all? It just takes one giant account on X™ to post about it to have thousands of normal people knowing about it.

I think Nintendo is very afraid of showing the console, there are companies like Asus ROG Ally x or similar that are powerful... And of losing sales of the Nintendo Switch. There's a super easy way around this, Nintendo. Reveal the stupid tablet.
