Switch 2 Pre-Orders. Did you get one?

The Best Buy website has the pro 2 controllers available if you need to get one.

That price is absurd though. No way it costs that much to make.

The whole chat thing may be a shit show. We will have to see.

The probably need an adults only channel and kids only channel or something.

They may just restrict the chat to friend codes.

That would be the best way to go. Rando chat would be a mess.
Atleast it doesnt require a phone this time i suppose. Kinda Nintendo of Nintendo to finally figured out what xbox did back in 2008

But me, personally, am just going to keep using discord

Seems like we did okay this time everyone. On the whole. PS5/Series X was way rougher.

I would not have been that upset if I was in second group of units had shipped or whatever. I just want to avoid any sort of Christmas BS.

I don't see how this even matters if you are getting it delivered. It doesn't ship from a store, it ships from one of the warehouses (likely not even in the same state)

Walmart seem to allotted specifics numbers to each region/area, this is how they've been extra preorders last night till today. This is away to check stock to preorder from those different areas.

We don't know if Walmart won't ship to their Super stores first. Their super stores do deliver. They may be delivery this way on launch! 🤷‍♂️

I'm just going to grab a pro controller in stores whenever I can. I assume accessories will be easy to get, especially with the elevated prices.

Not in any hurry to get one anytime soon since I only like Metroid Prime 4 and Mario Kart World on it. So by the time I'm really interested in the Switch 2 a.ka when a extra Metroid, new Mario Party, and a new Zelda game comes. The Switch 2 would easily be in stock and the price should be normal by then.

The first wave or two will likely be a bitch to deal with (sorta like how the ps disc drive was frequently sold out for months because of the pro), hell gamestop sold out of most accessory pre-orders before i got my chance to preorder the system.
But once the early adopters get theirs, I'd imagine it'll be considerably easier from there.

From my own experience as a retail worker, people still buy the cheaper off brand switch controllers over the pro controller, being $15 more than the s1 version wont help it.

I just got my preorder from my local Gameplanet store. I bought the MK bundle, and the last 2 legends of Zelda for switch1 and I will buy the upgrade once i got the system.
Giving Nintendo another chance.

I got one bundle from amazon earlier today, not too much hassle.

Im still not convinced but I might as well have the preorder just in case.

I have a switch 2 with mario kart, an extra pair of joy cons, a pro controller, steering wheels, a screen protector and a carying case preordered. No half measures. I sold my switch in september last year at the same time as my series x and i actually miss that console.

Brazil got a few units and only the Mario Kart bundle. Was a shadow drop and sold everywhere

I got one then cancelled it this morning. The hardware isn't worth the cost and I have no appetite for $80 video games like Nintendo is going to start pedalling out after Mario Kart.

This thing is going to age as badly as the Switch did at 30% more. Games like Cyberpunk and Hogwarts Legacy are already running at sub 1080p resolutions with upscaling to hit 30fps.

Walmart just charged my debit card (fully charged, not just authorized) for both my orders.

Thankfully I had enough money in there, but I was a little nervous seeing my bank account drop over $1,000 lower than I expected it. I had to do a double-take on the release date, because I thought for a hot second that maybe it was coming out May 5th instead of June 5th.

Yeah wtf Walmart. Mine is still in processing on my bank statement.

That's pretty good for a $450 handheld. I'm curious to see how well it does with heavier games like AW2, Wukong, Monster Hunter Wilds, etc..

My family is getting 2 or 3 of them, but we're going to use them only for Nintendo exclusives, more or less. Those should be quite performant. Everything else we have Steam Deck, PS5 Pro, gaming PCs, etc.. Were you planning on using it as your main system for 3rd-party games?

You may be able to plug a microphone into the console.
Switch supports Bluetooth headphones, but it did not allow you to use the mic because they had that backward phone app for online chat 😂. So, Switch 2 should support wireless Bluetooth headphones and their mic… if they do not well Nintendo is screwing their fans over this (too ;)).

Anyways, UK gamer here and yes got the preorder. Let's hope with good launch batches :)!

They charge the amount as an authorization. It will show on your card or bank as 'pending'. After a few days it will drop off until it ships. THEN it will be fully charged. This is just an authorization to see if you have the funds.

The official Nintendo invites by email (if you signed up interest early enough) are supposed to go out this week or next?

Can't wait to see how they manage to fuck that up. It's my last hope for now.

Fingers crossed with Walmart. I got the 'pending' charge on my credit card. I'm hoping this means they won't cancel it.

Tomorrow's the day for Nintendo invitations to start going out: https://www.nintendo.com/us/gaming-systems/switch-2/how-to-buy/

"When can I purchase the Nintendo Switch 2 system on the official My Nintendo Store?

  • If you register your interest in purchasing a Nintendo Switch 2 system from My Nintendo Store and meet all eligibility criteria, you will be added to the queue of customers interested in purchasing the Nintendo Switch 2 system from My Nintendo Store. You will receive an invitation email when it is your turn to shop. You will have 72 hours from when the invitation email is sent to complete your purchase.
  • The first wave of invitations will go out May 8.
  • If you do not receive an invitation at this time, you will remain in the invitation queue. Additional invitations will be sent periodically via email until all eligible registrants receive an opportunity to purchase.
Due to a high volume of registrations and fluctuations in supply, Nintendo cannot guarantee a timeline for when invitations will be sent. My Nintendo Store will continue this invitation system past the system's launch date, until purchases are opened for everyone."

Good luck to everyone

My biggest question is the GameCube controller going to be part of the invite process or is it going to be a separate pre order that goes up tomorrow?

Yes, my understanding is during the invite preorder process you will also have the chance to preorder accessories, including the Gamecube controller.

I haven't heard from anyone or seen anywhere online where anyone has received today's wave of invites. They must be sending them late, the anticipation is killing me
