Backed. My favorite series!
Way to read something into my post that isn't there. Certainly there are ways to contact Sony dev outreach to get the ball rolling.
Unity being called the worst engine of all times is just so laughable.

I believe they do.Maybe they did reach out but were not responded to.
I can see Charla jumping at this with an Xbox Dev kit in each hand. Does Sony even have a forward facing person that deals with indies?
It's not the worst, but:
1) most of my dev friends working with unity whine about it CONSTANTLY
2) I experience far more games with poor optimization on Unity than games that are not on Unity. Gone Home should not be nearly unplayable on my rig, but the performance issues are everywhere. Galak-Z has frame drops. HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN?
I'd love to hear about all those issue free, exquisitely performant UE4 games you've played, since that's what you're advocating for.It is. Nearly every Unity game I've played has some weird jank or performance issues. I'd rather everyone go Unreal Engine instead of this engine, even if that creates an Unreal Monopoly at this point.
What's the chances of one of the hidden stretch goals being VR? Now that the Lab renderer is free for Unity, could be very likely (and sorta easy for them to cram in, unless they want to give a good VR experience).
Kickstarter Email said:Exciting stretch goals await! Cross-platform integration, localization, and even VR implementation once we surpass our initial goal.
Quick question as this is my first kickstarter. When pledging where do you choose which platform you want to receive the game? Like do you get to choose Xbox or PC or do you get both?
After the KS is over the dev will usually send out a email survey and then you can indicate what platform you want.

10K on almost an hour, this doesn't look good.

Go on, we're waiting.

How does this look to be trending based on other Kickstarters by the way? I know some shot to being basically instantly funded while this didn't, but it seems that unless it completely peters out after the initial few hours it'd be set to hit the minimum goal... but the stretch goals?

Not going to lie, not loving the pixelation. Probably will still back on PC.artistic choice, though they might change that (personally I LOVE the pixelated look)
everyone complaining about Unity please post a photo of your ID badge where you work at a game development company

Lol you're so defensive. Unity is fucking trash, every single major game made on the engine so far has horrendous performance issues besides maybe Firewatch.
Why are you discussing performance on a pre-alpha proof of concept you numpties.
I've always wanted to try out System Shock 1 and 2 ( Just noticed I actually own 2 on Steam) but never got around to it because I've noticed I have a harder time getting into older games a lot of the time if I never played it back in the day. This looks like it might be a good solution to that problem. I'll probably get impatient and end up playing through the originals waiting for this anyways haha.
Not too into the idea of adding in rpg mechanics, but I can understand why they would want to do it to make the game more consistent with SS2 and the potential future SS3.
SS1 is almost impenetrable now, imo. Very hard to play. SS2 less so especially with the enhanced mods. So I'm happy SS1 is being remade.

I hope at a point in my life i can play SS 1-3 with modern graphics and shit. We are 1 step there now.
But there are only two System Shocks.

Yeah, but that's only like, less than a fourth of the goal. This Kickstarter campaign is doomed!Uhm, it says 208K...
The idea being if remakes of 1 and 2 are a success we will see 3.
