Tails of Iron (Gamescom 2021 trailer)

Geralt's narration makes it sound more hype than it is.

Seems like a decent metroidvania, but it lacks fluid combat animations for my taste.
 
What i like is that every enemy encounter looks handcrafted with something happening right before or after, even simple things like finding the enemies killing the innocent mices before attaching us etc.

Also the combat looks pretty legit, simple looking but precise and meaty enough for a 2d game, i like the finishers on the frogs.
 
looks like a game that sells because of voice acting in trailer.
Yeah not for me, i love the whiplash between the cartoony graphic\rat world and the sad story with gore etc.

Also the combat looks tight.

(is whiplash the right word?)

After playing for 90 min i can already tell this game is something else.

Combat is super responsive and relatively hard from the beginning, i love how brutal it is even with a kinda childish artstyle (i love the artstyle btw)

if you are in search for a 2d soulslike without stamina you are in for a treat boys.
