Taipei 101 is not the tallest structure in the world - that is still the CN Tower in Toronto - but it has been officially recognised as the world's tallest building.

The key, according to the official definition, is that a building has to have floors - and it has to be designed for residential, business or manufacturing purposes.

Actually, the tallest structure in the world is a transmission tower in North Dakota. It stands in excess of 2,000 feet tall. But it's supported by wires and what-not. What they MEAN to say is that the CN Tower is the tallest FREESTANDING structure in the world.

Toshiba has supplied the world's two fastest elevators which run at a top speed of 1008 meters per minute (63 km/h or 39 mph) and are able to take visitors from the main floor to the observatory on the 89th floor in under 39 seconds.

Holy monkey fucking christ! I don't like the feeling of elevators period, let alone ones that move at faster speeds than I can drive through town.

Lamb you should see the building where they made the elevator. It was on the history channel. Man that thing is fast as heck. It preasurizes the cabin too. I would love to visit these buildings though they are remarkable. I just know one day they will all fall down.
