Team Fortress 2 |OT3| - Murder-based Hat Simulator

Isn't the Flare Gun superior if you have godly aim?

The only situation I can think of where it wouldn't be superior would be against an enemy Pyro.

It depends upon the range you're engaging the enemy at, really.

I actually really like the flare gun against heavies. I can engage them by popping around corners and hitting them once for flames, then repeat at 90 health per pop (and their size makes aiming the thing pretty easy).

So a lot of people are working on Halloween themed items for the inevitable Halloween event.

Scout facepaint looks the best of the bunch. Demoman Blacula is pretty cool too.

For the Halloween update, I hope they don't have another gift box hunt... that was retarded.

Flare gun is a projectile and uses the projectile hitbox, which is the same size for all classes. It's a big part of the reason why, on smaller classes like the scout some stuff will still hit you even though you feel like you've dodged it.

I had some fun with the flare gun just a minute ago. Its usefulness depends on the situation, but it works great at distracting enemies far away. I was holding back the cart and when the sniper up top wasn't looking I'd hit him with a flare. It took a while to kill him, but the time he spent running to the medpack was time he wasn't shooting fools in the head. It also works great in close quarters in payload, ignite one of them and they can catch fire to the whole team if you get lucky.

As a spy is it even worth trying to take someone out that isn't preoccupied with battle? It seems to always bite me in the ass when I try to get a stab on a lone person heading to the point.

I found an interesting thread on Facepunch about using the map to launch Demo charges. A lot of people do it in Degroot:

But check these out. I had no idea you could do this at all.

Hope Kirby's ban isn't permanent :(

Also, is it possible to craft the wingstick yet?
If so, how would one do so?

edit: phone sent that data too quick to stop dammit.

Kirby's ban is a 10 day temp ban for repeating a joke from a game. He'll be back after he gets back from vacation.
Dat's the word on the street boyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Expect an optional TF2 update sometime tomorrow.

* We have fixed the problem with zombie players. (Or at least the zombies generated by banning.)

* We also fixed a bug where spectators connected directly to the spectator port (not an HLTV relay) would count as "players".

Your humble servant,

Fletch
If the update is optional that probably means no client update tomorrow. Hopefully they'll at least update the schema and add new crates

What's a zombie player?
When someone gets disconnected but it still says they're on the server.

Why do crates not tell you what's maybe inside them anymore? Kind of seems a little shady.
Not sure where you got that idea from. They still do.

Awesome stuff. Rekindles the glory days of discovering strafe jumping in Quake 2.

Also, I am extremely jealous of the framerate those videos play at... don't ask lol.

Since you play medic, I recommend looking for the Vita-saw (you'll respawn with up to 20% of your uber when you die, at the cost of only 10 hp) and the Blutsager (heals 3 hp per hit, at the cost of slower personal health regen). Also, I personally prefer the Kritzkrieg over the other mediguns, but it's situational.
/good info
Anyway, none of the items are true upgrades in a sense - just a fit to your personal tastes. Mess around with everything though, so you get an idea of each class's strengths and weaknesses.

I love the Kritzkrieg too, but I only play on pub servers, and 99% of the time the teammate you are healing wastes it or is even disappointed when you use it. But man, Kritzkrieging a pyro in a corridor is pretty gdlk :D

That's super strange, none of the items came up when I hovered over one earlier, just said 'You need a key to open this, go get one at the store' or whatever. But now the item names are back. I retract my comment about shadyness.

Too many damn dead ringers in the server. It's like having a constant swarm of nats around your head.

Play Pyro.

I fucking HATE the Pyro. And alert people... and people that won't stop moving around.

How does a Spy even do anything in competitive Tf2? 6 v 6 and likely every person knows the importance of checking. Meanwhile there are only 6 people on each team and likely everyone is communicating with each other constantly.

How often is Spy played in comp tf2?

I love the ones that don't even bother to change their team stripes - it shows to me that they are arrogant enough to keep it up and inviting me to go Pyro. Played a Barnblitz round about a week ago where there were two Spies from the same clan causing havoc and they were doing that. Went Pyro and everything changed.

That's pretty much what I figured. The more I play Spy the more I realize he depends entirely on the opposing team's incompetence and lack of communication.

Uggggh, hate this crap. TF2 started trying to "validate files" every time I tried to start it up, and froze at 100% every damn time. Deleting clientregistery.blob didn't work, deleting the USERNAME folder in Steam didn't work, I'm just downloading the damn game again.

Teams use him now and then to try and get a clutch medic kill or something sneaky. The sniper tends to be used a lot more as far as auxiliary classes go.

Communication pretty much works against all of the instakill stuff--sticky traps, snipers, spies can all be dealt with if people would just talk to their team.

Spy is played, but very rarely, and only if there's not an immediate need for another scout.

Yeah, like most classes outside the core four, Spy is only played in very specific situations or on certain maps where it may be necessary to pick a medic or take down a target.

Who are the core 4? Scout, Soldier, Demoman, Medic?

Obsessed said:

Yeah. Most teams have people whose dedicated roles is one of those four. (2 Scouts, 2 Soldiers, 1 Medic, 1 Demo)

This is followed closely by Sniper, but that's more of a situational thing based on the map and it's really just one of the team members who is considered the best Sniper being chosen.

If you saw that Gravelpit match a few nights ago you probably saw all classes being played, due to the uniqueness of Gravelpit. Heavy pushes, Pyros and Heavies on the last point, and Engineers with Level 3s and teleporters are rare on any other map, outside of desperate clutch moments.
