Sorry if this has been posted, spent a while searching for this information. I haven't played in a couple weeks and I let the client idle in an offline king of the hill bot game with 0 bots, the usual. No items. Was there a change?

Maybe you weren't connected to the item server when you started, that can sometimes happen and screw you out of items. That's what happens to me sometimes, anyways.

I had no luck earlier in the week with any text mode idling. In the end, I just set up a sandbox program to have 5 copies of the game open at once at low settings, and connected them all to the same idling server. (Then had them all heal each other in a medic chain to see how long they would live. Eventually the enemy got into our spawn.)

I've been playing a lot of Scout lately too, getting fairly good with Scattergun - Pistol - Atomizer, although I still have a lot of work, espcially with aim (getting somewhat better at dealing more damage, at least when I'm awake). Getting pretty good at flanking, though.

Scout is really fun for me, I enjoy zipping around the battlefield taking people by suprise and then running off to attack from a different angle/harass other people.

I've got my sensitivity at 6, which has been helping me out a lot.

Man I was sitting here FUMING. It was all good when I first started and was on your team. TF crashed and i had to goto other team and it was terrible. Walked in and the massacre was already 1/2 over. Dude talking every1 go heavy/medic was annoying the hell outta me as well. I was practicing as demo and got forced into pyro cause of you.....rough times in JFrost land

Facepunch. They have a thread called TF2 Emporium where a bunch of modellers show off their work. They have a lot of talented guys, and some contributors that got their items in the game (Team Captain, Vitasaw, Western Wear etc.) post in it. This and Polycount are the two forums you should check out if you want to see a possible preview of future TF2 items.

Stick with the scattergun.

I remember my friend sending me this map where there was a bunch of colored dots on the wall and you had to aim at them and swivel around and aim at other dots and keep doing this. It was supposed ot improve your muscle memory or something.

So I did it for 15 minutes, took a small break, then jumped into a match. I was WRECKING. It was a turbine map and I had near 6 dominations and the other team was pretty decent, too.

I can't remember the map name though. :/

For some reason I can't seem to consistently get under 300 ping all of a sudden whenever I play TF. It's really frustrating, as the game is hardly playable at that point. My ping elsewhere is just fine.

Anyone ever have similar issues?

Okay, while that plr_2fort map was clever, when people don't know how the map works it just turns into something annoying. I think I'd be willing to play it again if everyone on the server knew how it worked.

And that football map - I'd really like to play that gametype again on a map that's a little less...mazelike.

Aim is nice to have, but not the be all and end all of the game (unless you're sniper and super good)

It's more about positioning and know what to do in each situation. No matter how good your aim is, if you face a heavy combo or a soldier who knows what he's doing, you're fucked.

Again all you scout players
1. Stop jumping so much
2. Look at my previous post on how to deal with each class (I messed up wartime tonight :D )

4. Stop taking stupid risks

5. Your speed lets you retreat incredibly quickly. If you're losing the gunfight, get the hell out of there, grab the nearest medpack, and come right back from a different angle.

Metaphorically got a wicked stair stab on me today.

Also I'm sorta kinda getting better with aim.

And for FUCKS SAKE MEDICS STOP USING THE QUICK FIX/KRITZKREIG when we need to take down a sentry nest. It was either that those mediguns suck for taking down level 3's with an engineer securely tending to them, or the recipients of those ubercharges sucked at using them.

I blame the patients half the time now. I find that most sentry nests can be defeated without an uber with enough coordination. So many of the times when I switch to Medic or put on uber to break a nest or some other entrenched position, the patient (or patients if I'm multi ubering) end up failing over and over again regardless.

Medics that live on the edge use the Kritzkreig and Quick Fix anyway. And they charge so much faster too...

Same as when I have a camping position to heal, and the fucker just wont stand in the doorway and shoot everyone. He has to go rush in and die...

Also thats because they aim for the turret and not for the engineer, then you cannot break the nest.

So I think I've come to the conclusion that Pyro is going to be my main. It suits my playstyle pretty well as I prefer to play defensively and I actively Spy check. Man I wish the airblast worked as a rocket jump though.
