The teaser is a bit disappointing, but I heard that Adam McKay (and Will Ferrell) worked on the screenplay (they're the dynamic duo responsible for Anchorman, the upcoming Ferrell star vehicle "Talladega Nights" and many of Ferrell's best SNL bits), so that's very promising.

Plus, the cast boasts Jason Schwartzman, Steve Carrell, Stephen Colbert, Amy Sedaris and Michael Caine.

In this re-imagining of the magical 1960s sitcom, Will Ferrell plays Jack Wyatt, a difficult Hollywood star who tries to have a career comeback by playing Darrin Stephens in a big-screen version of the classic TV series. When Jack sees the beautiful Isabel Bigelow, played by Nicole Kidman, he thinks that she'd be right for the part of his on-screen wife, Samantha. What he doesn't know is that Isabel really is a witch, which actually makes her a perfect casting choice for the role. Isabel's father Nigel (Michael Caine) is concerned by his daughter's interest in the mortal world, until he's distracted by Iris Smythson (Shirley MacLaine), the movie star who'll be playing Samantha's mother Endora in the film.

Nicole Kidman's career is bulletproof right now, and will probably stay bulletproof as long as she continues to make off-the-wall limited-release movies like Dogville and Birth. The Stepford Wives remake didn't tarnish her image, and this won't either if it bombs.

I'm sorry, but the Spartan cheerleader sketches were GREAT!! I see them making these horrid newer SNL movies based on other characters (the club guys, Mary Katherine Galliger, etc.) and I'm wondering why they didn't do the spartan cheerleaders, they were far more popular and had more story potential IMO. It could have been the next Wayne's World.
