Supah SaiyaJin, indeed.
omg
God no, there's extremely minimal solo stuff in this Tekken and what's there is almost completely terrible. You get a short cinematic story mode with an awful story where nearly nothing happens. (You could sum up the story in literally two words, and even then you might need to tack a question mark to the end.) The narrator character is shockingly bad, both in writing and acting. Major important characters are entirely absent, the story barely advances from where Tekken 6 left things, and the few 'new' things introduced get no closure or even serious elaboration. Aside from that you get an extremely unsatisfying, short arcade mode with no intros or endings. You get some character specific stories that are literally single fights with cheap, in-engine ending movies tacked on. You get Treasure Battle, which is fun in concept but features such completely inept, robotic AI that it transforms into tedium extremely quickly. Those four options are your only solo content -- there doesn't even seem to be a versus CPU option, and there is no tutorial whatsoever.
Tekken 7 is a lot of fun against other people, but its solo offerings are incredibly weak.
omg
can't breathe
And wow, a mod finally giving the garbage can that is Alisa some personality.
This feels unplayable to me online for ps4. 3 bar connections on pc feel better than 5 bars on ps4.
4 or higher. I don't bother (if I can) with slower connections. Also, it helps if you use a ethernet line and not your wifi. It's smooth as butter most of the time for me.
I completely agree, online is unplayable. After the patch I played someone, and it was a slideshow. It wouldn't even DC. I tried to capture it, but OBS was being finicky.Yeah. There is no way in hell they really fixed the online for PS4. Running into a lot of errors. And I know it's not just me, Aris was saying the same thing.

The problem is sometimes you accept 4 bars only for it to drop.down to 3 bars.

This. The bars are full of shit. It's like KOF when it came out. Online is fun when it works and people have good connections though, I'll give it that.
It's not unplayable for me. And Aris plays all day. So whatever problems he has here and there, they don't equal unplayable. It's clearly working.
Aris plays on PC. More wired connections, possibly differing netcode implementations. We're talking about PS4.
I've had several people desync during matches, which incidentally didn't happen to me prior to the new patch. In general the netcode is okay, I've definitely had good matches.
Thank you. That's a really bizarre trigger for an extended ending. Are there lots of those? Am I missing a lot of content if I stick to the endings in this game's gallery?I remember that Gun Jack's full-ending in Tekken 3 could only be seen if you pressed Start to select him for Arcade mode instead of a Punch or Kick button.
I'd imagine they've just batch-copied the 'main' FMVs over and missed whatever little subfolder that full one was in.
Is the game supposed to have a "sweat effect" ?
It really doesnt look good.Skin has the typical vasiline rubbery look of last gen...
Difference between saying something is completely unplayable and online is fixed. Online is not fixed.
Still having syncing problems.
Full bars can be slower than molasses if you even get pass the first problem.
Some times it takes minutes to load a match.
The game can freeze and crash for some apparent reason. Haven't seen this with PC version.
It's better than pre-patch because people can actually join lobbies and matches but problems are still there.
Mine was where the two winners were about to battle, and the game just desynced and declared someone a winner at random. Was very anticlimactic.I encountered a weird tournament bug last night. The rest of us finished our matches, but in the remaining match both players had quit. The game seemed unable to deal with that and didn't progress us to the next round of matches, and eventually the host had to end the tournament.
Hey guys I was thinking about potentially picking this up. How is this game for somebody who is pretty new to the series? Is there a steep learning curve?

The game does actually show who's on Wifi or Wired on PC. Someone on the SFV OT said it wasn't possible.

It's been working flawless for me so far now in all modes.Yeah. There is no way in hell they really fixed the online for PS4. Running into a lot of errors. And I know it's not just me, Aris was saying the same thing.
It is rather steep, but there is a lot of new people online at the moment. So this is the best time to learn it if any.
Easy to jump in and have some fun. If you wanna get serious, there is a lot to learn. I considered myself a casual player for years but I am taking it seriously now and it's a lot to take in. But I am having a lot of fun along the way.
That symbol notes who is the host, not what they are connected on.
Just picked up Fighter rank...
Man... I feel like when people see you're about to get promoted or demoted their skill level ramps up. Or I just get nervous and suck.

Yeah, there are tons of wall shenanigans in this game.
Still trying to make sense of how to position properly.
But maybe that's better than T6BR where the walls were so sticky and it was difficult to get out of wall pressure.
This is the first Tekken game I've played, and I'm having a total blast with it. Playing on PC with a normal PS4 controller (no arcade stick or anything), and I feel like I can totally compete with the people I'm matched up against. I have a couple hours of SFIV and SFV (about a dozen in each), but that's pretty much it for modern fighters. I felt totally overwhelmed by the pace of those games, but Tekken 7 feels way easier to understand and way easier to actually play.
Learning curve is weird is steep but not frightening. At first you'll be matched up against other new players, and then as you get a few wins under your belt you'll start learning your character and get matched up against players that have a bit more experience. The game has a lot of depth, but it's totally not necessary to understand it all due to the way matchmaking works.
