TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

Man I don't know how people grind out huge ass online sessions in this.

Every match is so damn tense, after like 3 or 4 I'm spent.

Step 1: Play 1 match.
Step 2: Play the other 39.

I got around to playing a set on the PS4 online with a friend. I dunno but it feels slightly more sluggish than the steam version, but I'm probably imagining things. Has there been input tests on both devices? Though it might be a monitor vs. tv difference too, I never really messed with my TV settings so it might not be set right for gaming.

Yeah, I've noticed I've developed unnatural tics with this game while playing that i never had while playing SF

too much intensity

It's not the wall
She low profiled it during that specific move

WTF is so good

I think the most jarring thing for me coming from sf (or any non tekken game) is the amount of footage available. all these "crazy" sf ft10s, mms, matchups. etc are small time compared to tekken. looking for matchup or character footage? here's knee playing a 2 hour deathmatch of that matchup. Heres 5 other ones with the same char against another player and or character. Heres another TTG player doing it as well.

Toolassisted (well known Street Fighter Framedata explorer and well known online bot/makro player) released a small mod which reduces the Tekken 7 loading times on pc even more (like with his mod for SF V).

This will be especially come in handy in private lobbys with friends.

Like in SF V if your opponent don't use the mod you just wait as long as always but if he does use it it loads quicker including online.

Im so glad Aris is doing Shaheen at last. I have been muscle memory grinding like a FIEND with him. He is being slept on hard. Amazing character.

do you really need ewgf for punishing? I mean, max one sure, but when i was trying him out it seems like his normal punishes do a great deal even without electrics

The other one that isn't ewgf is unsafe and punishable, so if you mess it up, you could eat a combo. I was watching Aris stream and he said not to even focus on ewgf too much because you'll never master it. He's right. You can become more consistent, but that's about it.

anyone else have this problem where you get matched against a 4 bar opponent but it stays as a 3 bar connection for the entire match?

Same. As I wrote this morning (near 17 hours ago), I played 9 matches (won 6) as my morning wake me up.

What I didn't write was how it made me jittery and anxious and I had to play treasure battle to calm down lol. Glad I'm not the only one.

Harada I know you're reading this. I demand you let me change the color of the inside lining of Steve's robe.

Yeah, this bugs the shit out of me. It's worse because his 2P color variant has the inside colored the way I want (purple) but, inexplicably, you can't edit the colors of the 2P outfit.

Word must be out that law is the button masher character of choice

I've been playing since Tekken 3... And Harada had succeeded in making Paul just as irrigating as his old T3 self... One wrong move and almost half of your life bar is gone

Haven't played much since tekken 5.... But I need to get back a good feel for the side steps

BTW do you all think that the latency from a wireless controller would put me at a disadvantage compared to a wired one?
Right now I'm using an Xbox one controller on the PC version... But I've noticed sometimes people can interrupt my quick jabs with even a kick.

I will try my sanwa soon.... But laziness has kept me using the Xbox controller

I really only played the older games and sure, they had some BS, but it seems this game everyone has these crazy high-lows that lead to a wall and then you're screwed. Take out the walls and it wouldn't be as annoying. Controller? I have no idea. I'm on ps4 and its controller is wireless

So messed around with the preferences before you select your character in online, this is what i found.

On default, the game is set to matchmake for a 4 bar or higher connection. However, 95% of the time, the match is actually a 3 bar connection and stays 3 bar the entire match. It rarely jumps to a 4 bar connection mid-match.

Now if I set the game to only matchmake with 5 bar connections, the matches most of the time are actually 4 bar connections the entire match with it rarely jumping to a 5 bar connection.

Game basically takes my expectation minus 1 bar lol

Does anyone else have this problem ?

You can plug in the ps4 controller to reduce the input lag

I have the same experience.

DS4 seems to have more input lag when it's wired.

Yup this is exactly how it works for me on PC.

Do you stick players keep the default button layout, ie the 2x2 style? Or do you change it? I'm used to stuff like Street Fighter and KoF so the 2x2 feels a bit cramped, but maybe it's ideal? Do you use your ring finger, or just thumb, index, and middle?

Finally got Rolling Death Cradle online after a couple hours of King in practice. Time to actually learn the useful grabs now.

Default for me. I don't pay attention to my fingers much but I think I keep it to my thumb, index & middle finger. Feels good for me.

These same Paul/Chloe/Katarina players usually aren't good on the defence and easy to overcome if you get the upper hand with varied level pressure
I think it's mostly due to them not accustomed to being attacked since their offensive options are so good

Asuka is so much fun in this game. She never felt like a straight Jun clone, but the new moves they gave her in T7 really solidified the scrappy tomboy personality.

I'm not enjoying Feng as much as previous games. df1 and ws4 doing that weird crumple on counter hit really fucks up my poking patterns.

Yea, Feng is less fun to play now. And that ch animation for d/f+1 fucking sucks, it creates space.

I'll never understand why people choose to play Fighting games of ALL games on their shitty wifi internet. Like come on. Should be a gaming law that you cannot play FGs online unless youre within 5 meters of your router or are wired.

Just had a really unpleasant slideshow of a match.

how to punish Lucky Chloe's ↙○○ ?

if you block the first hit, you can interrupt the 2nd with a while standing punish and get counter hit

but the 2nd hit seems to be safe. I tried jab punishing it in practice mode and it wasn't connecting

Hm I don't know about TTT2, but Asuka was a pretty weaksauce Jun clone in T6. I've only played around with Asuka a bit in T7, but I'm getting much more of a Jun vibe now. Not sure why, but I like it. Makes me reconsider maining Xiaoyu.

I like that the practice mode gives an option to set Input Delay. Really gives a good indication for how badly you'll screw up that great combo when you go online.
