Now my Sans is truly complete
Hey, as someone who enjoys Tekken purely for the single player stuff, is this game worth picking it or should I wait for it to get cheaper.
I really liked Tekken 4 because each character got an intro, epilogue and ending cut scene which fleshed everyone out a bit - not a huge fan of the numerous comedic endings they did in Tekken 5 and 6
I understand the game has an actual story mode this time, does it come with a classic arcade mode with ending cut scenes as well - I remember something with Tekken 6 like you only got three fights or something and it was trickier to get endings, been a while though.
Thank mr. SkeltalNow my Sans is truly complete
Nope, it's possible to get a ranked match but it is still mediocre. I had less problems with Tekken 5 on ps3. (as in finding and joining matches, the netcode is a million times better in this when it works)Has the patch sorted the network issues now? (PS4 version).
The main story mode focuses on the Mishimas. As you progress you unlock individual character battles which feature one battle against a rival or tournamnet combatant and you get an ending (which aren't on par with previous releases and has a lot of jokey ones). If you knew my history, you'd know that I'm someone in your boots and I view this as probably the best Tekken has been in a long time. Treasure battle is surprisingly addicting which is a never ending series of fights with special matches and unique circumstances added every now and then (double speed, double damage etc) and after each win, you get items and money.Hey, as someone who enjoys Tekken purely for the single player stuff, is this game worth picking it or should I wait for it to get cheaper.

So am I stupid or are there no character specific arcade modes like in the previous Tekken games in T7?
There's only CPU arcade with not much context and....I dont really care about watching long ass CG cutscenes/dialogue to understand what is going on really...it's what I despise about GGX's "Story Mode" I'd rather be engaged in the plot than just watch a movie.

Edit: question was literally answered in the above post.
That's disappointing...I dont really care about the main plot of the game at all, and especially anything to do with Jin, Kazuya or Heihachi.
Knowing the context of the story, it now makes sense as to why arcade mode doesn't produce endings as in the past. Tekken 8 or a Tekken Refresh might be a return to form. There's Character Stories which is one fight with a cutscene ending. The regular arcade is just CPU fights that aren't specific to the character.
(I'm not sure if revenge matches affect ranking gain, they do at the arcade.)

Man, so how do I fight King? I keep getting owned by throws that go on for a long time.
1. Don't let him get you into those throws. They're usually easy to avoid
2. Learn the breaks. The timing is easy, you just keep mashing the correct button. But you gotta learn what breaks what.
Looking forward to that! well done!Guys I just won an online tournament. This is my greatest ever achievement in Tekken. My heart is fucking racing lmao, I was so close to fucking up and losing.
Will post the video and screens later.

And on Defending throws (this also applies to King I would think) watch this video:

Well if somebody knows how to do all of his multi throws and how to do all of the different options, you're kinda boned and it is a guessing game. I would just look up the major ones like Rolling Death Cradle, Screwdriver and King's Bridge. Is there a video that teaches when/how to escape from his throws? I'm still pretty unfamiliar with most chars, let alone their movesets
Boy, you know Katarina's combos are easy when you can do them reliably one-handed.

God no, there's extremely minimal solo stuff in this Tekken and what's there is almost completely terrible. You get a short cinematic story mode with an awful story where nearly nothing happens. (You could sum up the story in literally two words, and even then you might need to tack a question mark to the end.) The narrator character is shockingly bad, both in writing and acting. Major important characters are entirely absent, the story barely advances from where Tekken 6 left things, and the few 'new' things introduced get no closure or even serious elaboration. Aside from that you get an extremely unsatisfying, short arcade mode with no intros or endings. You get some character specific stories that are literally single fights with cheap, in-engine ending movies tacked on. You get Treasure Battle, which is fun in concept but features such completely inept, robotic AI that it transforms into tedium extremely quickly. Those four options are your only solo content -- there doesn't even seem to be a versus CPU option, and there is no tutorial whatsoever.Hey, as someone who enjoys Tekken purely for the single player stuff, is this game worth picking it or should I wait for it to get cheaper.

I mainly do a variation of two combos after a starter.Learn some of the optimal juggles and then try that again..
but why...
How do you select your region picture on PC? I'm in the ME with a ME steam account and it displays NA as my region in online play.
*sigh* Think I'm gonna drop trying to get into this game. Tried learning how to play properly a couple of times now, and it's just way to unintuitive and complicated.
I tried what someone suggested before about using the combo's in a characters move lists, but there's like a handful of combo's listed there compared to the dozens of different single strike moves....

It's been set to Dubai for the longest time too.Maybe your preferred download server is set to something in NA?

I know EXACTLY how you feel.Dang, Lee and Kazumi are fun. How can I possibly be having a "too many characters" crisis when I'm still not good with anyone? Lol.
The biggest thing for newcomers IMO, especially those used to 2D fighters, is to get the movement down. Learn how to create/close space and create angles for yourself. If not you will very quickly find yourself stuck against a wall online. Then from there learn basic combos, nothing too crazy, just some 3/4/5 hit moves that you can pump out on a regular basis when there is an opening. Then evolve from there.
I still need to evolve, but whatever, I'm having a good time.
I think the region select was when you first started up the game prior to accepting the terms and privacy policy.
Can't really juggle and punish with Devil Jin. My EWGF has like a 40% success rate and even when I do, I freeze half the time. In actual combat, I'm too scared to try it out of fear of whiffing and doing the wrong move and getting punished.
This is what happens when you play 20 years of Tekken abusing the AI with extremely simplistic stuff and decide now is the time you want to actually git gud.
do you really need ewgf for punishing? I mean, max one sure, but when i was trying him out it seems like his normal punishes do a great deal even without electrics
