TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

Is there a particular character that's recommended for beginners to use to learn the basics of Tekken? Or should I just dive into whoever looks interesting?

Ask 10 people, get 10 answers. General rule is gravitate towards whoever you find interesting but maybe avoid Jin, Devil Jin, Kazuya or Heihachi. Particularly latter two. Oh, and Yoshimitsu. Takes a lot to get a little with him.

What are the odds for Akuma as final boss of Arcade Mode? I already did half a dozen of runs, I always get Kazumi.

Edit: forget about it, I finally got him. Time to kick his ass.

Not sure. Anecdotally, I fought him playing as Master Raven with a couple of perfects and no losses on medium difficulty. I think that you have to finish the main story first though.

Edit: How did you get him? Wondering if it's random or you have to meet certain criteria.

It's not Capcom/SFV. And people really want to like this game. But soon the patience will wear out
Don't forget this game actually has something other than online to play and it's still the 2nd day people are still going through it, in SFV case we had nothing but characters stories which takes 30 minutes to beat all of them and that nerve wrecking survival mode when the online wasn't functional.

I got him once, I think I finished Hei with a Rage Art. Dunno the exact requirement. This was way before I even touched the main story (shit was still installing).

Ono needs to learn. Get SP content in there for the very least to take eyes off online problems, haha.

Hmm, seems like you only need to finish story for special matches in Treasure then? Can't remember if I finished him with a Rage Art though.

A lot of people entered my lobby yesterday and 99% of their comments is them saying they couldn't join a match. Seems to be a widespread problem for PS4. I personally had no problems connecting to people but I've seen people otherwise.

Does anyone have any tips for juggling with King? I'm having trouble finding any reliable damaging combos outside of 1,2,1,1, and that doesn't even do anything really.

Absolutely loving this game. It's been so long since I played a 3D fighter. It's funny, the market used to be flooded with them and everyone wanted them to go back to 2D, and here we are with 3D again! So epic.

I suppose it's similar to the thing that happened with COD and Battlefield.

Ok.

For those who may not know me, I've been bitching about Tekken since Tekken 6. I hated the un-updated character art. I hated the emphasis on customizations. I hated the amount of time it took for a console port which may or may not have had to do with going multi-plat. I hated the UFC advertising campaign they tried getting in on. And I hated how sluggish it felt compared to Tekken 5 DR HD.

Fast forward to TTT2 and I largely felt the same.

Come to today... HOLY SHIT! I finally have a Tekken that I feel like is one to one to one to one between hand, controller, mind and screen. All this time I've bitched and moaned, it was because of some shit input lag of the PS3 entries or something because this feels marvelous in comparison.

Shit character treatment, but I'm in love with actually playing it. Would be nice to connect to players though.

This game actually has more input lag than TTT2.

I'm just going to play Akuma for now. I'm trying to do frame traps(If there are any in this game) as the very basics to get something.

Has anyone come up with work arounds for finding matches on PS4? I've only had two successful matches so far. Are there ports I need to forward or something?

My tv by default has input lag and honestly, I'm not noticing all that much. Not sure why, but 6 never connected with me and maybe tag was just guilty by association. Or maybe the DS3 didn't suit me as much as DS2 and now 4? It's weird.

Actually, I remember getting frustrated not being able to pull off my GAF namesake (d,d/f,f+1) consistently in those games and here it's like it was a decade ago for me. All I know is I'm happy and it feels good.

I'm horrific at fighting games and I've won 3 online matches using Katarina. Her combos were kinda easy for me to learn (the basic ones anyway).

I'm confident the online matchmaking will be patched. I do not have a rig capable of running this comfortably, or wanna shell out the $400+ to upgrade it which is why I didn't even consider a PC version purchase.

Of course it will be but it's silly that they haven't straight up mentioned anything about the issue besides doing little cheat codes like waiting a few seconds in warm up. This is a real critical time for the game and they need to be on top of this shit while the casual player base is still around.

It's really disappointing that the online is broken on ps4 but we just have to wait. This is way worse than sf5 was at launch. At least you could get into matches when the network was up.

Maybe they took the weekend off.

Yeah, this is very similar. Hopefully there's a quick fix.

Playing on PS4 Pro and still not able to get a single quick match going

I guess I'll use this time to practice with as many characters as I can, hope a patch or some sort of solution will be available soon for PS4 players

By the way, does anyone know how to bind the shoulder buttons? I couldn't find anything in the controls options.

I just played a few quick matches on PC, and even on that I got some connections lost. That said, I'm not sure whether that's because they declined the match or what.

The games that I did connect to were solid, and fun though.

Surprisingly as a total fighting game scrub, and tekken newb I did get some wins through just using basics (defending and punishing) as Claudio.

I guess I should probably try and learn some basic combos just so I can punish for more damage.

I thought I was going to get destroyed online but I'm mowing through people as Eddy (ranked matches, tournaments, etc...). I'm guessing it's a lot of new people who haven't played much before. It's kinda like people aren't sure how to react to his unorthodox moveset lol.

This is bollocks. I'm on ps4 and it flat out just doesn't work online. They need to sort this shit out quickly. Not good enough at all

So apparently movement was universalized in this game.

And yet every character's movement(KBD in particular) feels totally different.Or is it just my imagination.

Movement wasn't normalized that's why. They normalized some part of backdash & people ballpark translated it tp normalized movement.

A competent Eddy is going to eat.

So for someone in an interest in fighting games, but with no experience whatsoever... I guess this is not the game for me ?

As a new player I certainly struggle against him.

This game has plenty to offer. I'll play some matched with you to get you up to speed but I don't have a mic at the moment.

If you're looking for SP content then this game is fairly bare bones in that regard.

But this game is an absoute delight to play so I'd recommend it on that basis alone.

Thanks good find.

Also here is a character overview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nbewxse8DlI

And if anyone goes to Tekken Zaibatsu and YouTube Level Up Your Game with RIP, tons of information.

Honestly even 10 year olds have tons of access to the internet. No company can match what the collective community provides for information.

It not hard finding turtorials and information in today's world.

A nice, concise guide that is *written* is indeed hard to find.
