TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

Here are some character overviews:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nbewxse8DlI

Also there is a video floating around showing characters top 15 moves is good too. I keep forgetting to grab that link lol

Personally if I had to think a glass cannon, I would say Paul Phoenix. Akuma is also. Game is very well-balanced, so it's kind a hard to identify an over power character, with little life.

Tekken doesn't work like that, all characters have the same amount of life. Hence one of the reasons why it's so well balanced.

It's more down to the player ability of positioning(spacing), reflexes, and mind games.

That should be helpful. Thanks , much appreciated!

Honestly I don't know. I believe heist battles are the only way to get it, but do you only face heist battles against the character you are using or can anyone show up?

EDIT: seems like in the Tekken reddit sub people are saying they got rainbow hair for characters other than the one they were using.
I think it's random, I've had both instances happen.

I don;t even know what happened with ps4. Tag 2 was good online.

PC is alright but it still seems to drop a lot of connections when getting matches

The online is piss poor and almost everybody is getting giving this game a pass. It's god awful.
Have you looked at the past few pages? There's a ton of posts talking about how fucked the online is on PS4.

The thing is that the other platforms don't seem to be affected so people on PC and XBO are actually having a decent experience online.

I don't understand how you only fuck up the online on one system. PC I can understand but why is it fine on XBL too?
I am like 99% sure its being caused by server load. There's way more PS4 players than PC/XBO so the PS4 servers are getting hammered.

It'll be because more people are playing probably.

I'm getting problems on PC now. About 70% of my match pops while waiting end up failing due to "Connection Lost" errors.

Well that makes sense that just annoys me more. How did they not have their servers prepared for this? I really doubt this game is selling that much better than any prior Tekken.
I think it IS selling more, actually. It's been on the top of the Amazon charts for a while and I've seen way more buzz for this game than I ever saw for T6 and TTT2.

It's their first Tekken on a new console and not only has the reception been very positive but the support towards it is higher than any Tekken I've personally seen in a great while. They probably didn't expect this outcome. I'm pretty sure this will probably be far that of T6 and TTT2 sales-wise.

All done, that was super easy :p Was hoping for a brutal one cheevo like the Nightmare Train or similar for this one that would take ages.

Well that would be nice to see a little fighting game resurgence sales wise. I forgot that it really has been almost 8 years since T6 hit consoles. Long ass wait.

Getting exposed by lows in this game lol

its worst against the ones that lead to a lot of damage and high crush

hop kicks work sometimes at least

Nah.

That's what helps Tekken standout. Pro players only use certain moves but for most casuals and just anyone else, the large moveset allows for more personal freedom. Unlike a lot of other fighters, where everybody's hitting the same moves with the same structure, Tekken's not like that. You can create your own combo in the lab and use a different set of moves that most players won't use and still be viable considering with Tekken, the combos you have aren't what'll get you to the world championship. You and your homie can both play Paul but neither of you fight anything close to the same. It's all about options and diversity.

^^^ This

And I'll add, and allows for players to be more creative.

One of the bummer of some of the latest AAA titles and fighting games, is everybody plays the same. That's not horrible, per se, however I find it more entertaining to see how one player chooses to play a character as opposed to another.

I think the reason people are giving the online for PS4 pass is because one PC is working fine, to Xbox is working fine, and then you have players like me who are having no problems at all with PS4 Pro. But I hope they work out the issues for the other players who are experiencing issues. I got tons of games in yesterday on my PS4 Pro .

Just seat of the pants feeling; this release seems to be landing with a bigger impact than the previous ones.

Good games luce
You sure this is your first?
Everyone pretending to be sheep out here
Yeah, literally my second day of Tekken. GGs Numb. I was expecting a dominating performance but not with a quarter of the cast lol.

Just wish our connection was better. There were literally 3 instances where I blocked the low sweep but the input delay kinda screwed me over lol.

Game pretty good, beat main story and was digging into the museums. love the library with all the old movies.

What is the deal with the jukebox tho? Shame you can't play individual tracks, I thought there was supposed to be a create a playlist option?

Tekken's probably the only fighter where I can have hours in the lab and be 100% content with it and not be worried. I just love going into Practice and just fucking around a bit.

Also disappointed with the customization options here. Tekken 6 had the best customization mode, but now everyone's just got a few unique options, and then a bunch of generic ones shared with everyone else. Also don't like how gloves and shoes don't have their own slot.

I know it's no big deal since it's not the focus of the game, but I wish it was better.

Doesn't help that the online still isn't fixed.

I watched avoidingthepuddle playing on twitch last night and damn... seeing someone more comfortable with the game I could better appreciate where they took Tekken with this. I really like it. Kind of tempted to buy home version...

PS4 online is completely broken atm it seems. I see lobbies but am unable to join any of them. Also, can't connect to any of the matches that popup in ranked. -_- Jumped online for the first time today...that's a bummer.

Should I just get the PC version? People seem to be pretty happy with that.

Man, seeing all the Yoshis like this... Tekken 1-3 Yoshi is like 80's Transformers, and 4-7 Yoshi is like Michael Bay Transformers. So overdesigned. T2 Yoshi design was the GOAT, it's a shame what they've done to him.

Yup, mos def. I remember in Tekken 3 I created and evolved a combo juggle for Lei just through playing with friends. It probably didn't do optimal damage at all, but it looked really cool, and probably no one else did it.

People are saying the PC version is dropping connections now too. Honestly might just be best to wait a day or two.

I think there is? I remember seeing like 4 or so playlists you can customize. Then you can pick which songs you want to add to them. I didn't make one though, just looked at the option. Yeah I am loving the library too, don't have a ton of time to play this weekend, but I do take short breaks to watch some of the old videos. I love how Tekken jumps from 100% serious to 100% goofy.

People aren't giving it a "pass", some can just understand the situation. The netcode (the most important part of the online) has proven to be great. The matchmaking issues seems to be only ranked/player match on PS4. This will be fixed soon. In the meantime, online tournament mode and everything else works.

You can try to gather up an angry mob if you want, but that doesn't magically solve the problem.

The Practice mode is so good in T7. I love being able to put the move list on screen, play a quick demo and then try to match it. And all the options for opponents. It makes a lot easier to try out things quickly.

It's interesting as I get older how vastly my views have changed. Maybe 10 years ago I would have agreed with you, but I am more fond of some of his later designs than I am of his 3. 2 is as boring as it gets. Nothing about it stands out and there is zero personality, IMO. The image depicts his P2 costume in T1 (which was good IMO). Speaking of P2, some of his P2 designs were better than the P1s. However, 7 and Tag 2 are incredible to me. I love them both dearly.

This was his P1 in Tekken 1.
