TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

Tekken 8 has to be the game that goes into it. It's funny they sold this as the climax and in many ways it was but tekken 8 seems like the real conclusion to everything.
The pieces are so well set up, this will be a hard wait.

Oh no doubt. While Jun did have connections to Heihachi (considering she instructed Jin to go to him before shit got crazy) it would make waaaay more sense for her to make a return when her son and the man that helped bring him into this world are fighting to the death.

Infinite Azure and Geometric Plane have some of the best tracks in the series. But Harada can keep the rest.

Gotta replace the volcano tracks with Heat Haze Shadow 1/2.

The dubstep is actually growing on me. Yeah, it sounds like shit, but it goes so fucking over the top hard that I can't even hate. It's hilarious.

I'm trying to dash and side step super fast like the pros do but i can't seem to pull it off.
Aris actually just put up a video regarding this -- you basically shouldn't be worrying about that as a new player. Movement is important, but you also need other fundamentals (for things like knowing move properties, what specific moves can be punished on block, learning all the correct responses for various situations, etc.) as well.

Is online region locked? My Steam account is Mexican so I mostly get NA matches, but I live in Japan... :( I guess online won't be great for me.

This Akuma's gotta be even more button-busy than SF5's. Has anyone found a consistent way to hit b+1 > flip3 that gets the extra bounce for combos?

Is Eliza supposed to be playable already for people who pre-ordered ? I bought the game on May 31st but I don't see her in the character select menu.

Console: If retail, the box should say Day One Edition and has a code inside. Digital, was for preorders and was on the download history.

PC: Depending on were you got your code, some were Day One editions, others weren't.

Just played 5 hours straight. Only missing the ranked, casual and 10 online fights trophies. But online is still more a miss than a hit, so who knows when I'll get those.

Is your copy of the game the Day 1 Edition? If it is you should have gotten a code to download her.

Yo, okay, I think I'm finally understanding how Tekken is supposed to work (after years of buying the games and never feeling like they're clicking and giving up lol). I feel like this game requires a huge mentality shift from 2D fighters, and I've never gotten over that before.

Thanks to everyone in this thread for all the beginner advice and tips.

Movement: I am shit. I know everyone does Korean backdash but I'm not there yet. Is it crucial for spacing effectively or can I work up to that eventually?

Hey guys, so I'm new to the tekken series, I don't know if its because I'm new but I find the Rage super move to be kind of a lame mechanic(the people I've played with kind of use it similar to wake up super/ultra in SF). At least to me, it kind of detracts me from attempting anything when the other guy has it because it has armor, so I have to be defensive.

What do you guys do to avoid getting hit by it? Is being overly cautious/defensive the only option?

I'm digital on Xbox, maybe I was too late for it to count as a preorder... :(
I'd mostly be annoyed because of Tekken6 that should be included in the preorder, I don't care that much about Eliza.

I can't wait for the soundtrack to get a proper release, I think this might be the best Tekken soundtrack yet. They're really leaning into the aggro drum & bass/dubstep stuff TT2 dabbled in, which some old school Tekken fans might not like but I'm REALLLLLY into it. Really good over-the-top fight music.

So far the only one I don't really like and meh over is the Helipad at night 2nd Round.

Helipad daytime 1st Round is fucking sick though, as well as Violet Systems 2nd Round.

When the game first came out in 2015 I really hated most of the OST and wished for the old tracks to come back.

It's 2017 and I have all the legacy tracks but I don't think they fit with this game. Lol

Time changes you I guess.

Rage Arts are generally very risky to use, because even if you see the activation, you still have enough time to block if you did not press a button. They are extremely punishable and you can kill them off by just launching them.

Best thing to do is bait it out. Dash in their face and then block. Or do moves that have short recovery like jabs so you're ready to block. Punish them hard once you've successfully blocked. If they're really low on life use high damage moves to kill them through the armor.

I need a video to help me with doing EWGF... I can do about 3 in a row... rarely. Then I lose my rhythm and can't do a single one. Ever since they had this damn thing in Tekken 3 I have NEVER been able to do them consistently. I'm about to give up playing these EWGF characters.

This game is so sickkkk but it also makes me more upset at the awkward launch of street fighter 5 and the lack of a virtua fighter fuck

Blocking, ducking and sidestepping works. Some Power Crush moves execute faster than Rage Arts and will hit before your opponent's Rage Art move connect. I had it lucky when my Heihachi's Devil Wing Power Crush went through Feng's Rage Arts for some reason. Unblockables like the one from Nina works too.

Infinite azure and devil's pit stage 1 are my favorites from this game by far...i don't think any other music in this game actually have any catchiness or rythm to them which tekken music usually has

I liked the electronic 3/4/5DR era of music the best, before it got too generic and wub wubby...i put tekken 2 in a different sort of category because it was pretty unique for the time

While I love Dark Resurrection's character select, nowadays every time I hear the T7FR one I get super hyped. I guess Namco's wubbing has grown on me, heh...

And why would I want them?
Sure wish I could play some quick online games on PS4.

I get home to see matchmaking is still fucked. This shit is unacceptable. Two games I've bought this past week on PS4 that has busted ass matchmaking.

Fix this shit already

So it seems I really didn't get Eliza for pre-ordering the Deluxe edition at Gamestop. Was the PS4 exclusive classic costumes also a pre-order bonus? And what about the metallic costumes for all characters? Because I got the metallic costumes.

Nah, don't worry about that. Just learn to normally dash around, whiff punish and do sidesteps for example first :D

You guys know what should have been included in my 100€ Deluxe Edition? Fucking online play!

How, after all the criticism SFV garnered since launch, can such a thing happen in one of the few AAA fighting game franchises left?

Classic costumes are part of the game, you just choose the character with Square and pick the costume.

Metallic colors are part of the season pass/Deluxe Edition.

If you preordered and picked the game in the store, check for a code inside or in the receipt for Eliza. Contact the store if there's no code anywhere.

Legacy costumes are a PS4 exclusive like the jukebox. It just comes with it. Metallic costume comes with the season pass. Eliza is the only pre order bonus.

Thanks! I'll try jabbing or 1-2 combos and see if I still have time to block. I'm focusing on learning Hwoarang (liked the character on SFXT), pretty fun!
