Judging by the way the health bar interface is changed in TTT2 Prologue, it's pretty much guaranteed that it's running at a lower res than the arcade version, which is already partially subHD. BUT when FW mentioned a few posts above how the pause menu had a specific display option for "console", maybe there's a setting that can uprez the game at the sacrifice of some other features?

Less motion blurr, more res maybe? AA? Something something?

Oh yeah, and guess which stage won Fighterpedia's top 7 fighting game stages of all time?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9HmOyIRJF0

Other patch notes:

-Jun's Counter into Tag has reduced frame advantage so nothing confirmed anymore
- Ravens bt 3+4 been patched (No more infinites)
- Something about tag assault air combos (not sure exactly what this does yet, but maybe affects sandwich combo's)
- One of ninas throws changed (Don't know which one yet)
- Miguels tackle changed... longer recovery, less tracking?
- Julia's ws2, 2 is no longer a natural combo

"console" sounds like the code word for turn off motion blur and up the rez

I thought Miguel's tackle looked really cheap in videos, you could almost spam it.

But thats what made him usuable outside of Tag assault :'(

for tag assault, you can do the df1 to a fab string and all of it will connect

if the tackle is nerfed badly, then hes back to the "Gotta work for your meal" character.

Unless you sidestep and hopkick everything of course :p

Never been a Miguel user but that tackle did look pretty cheap.

not decided yet. considering Single RT@VaanXCloud have you decided on the fighting system of Tekken x Street fighter? Tag or single I mean.

Nooooooo. I want it to be Tag. Although, SF models in 3D would have much better detail if it's not tag.

Damn, I was actually hoping for a tag game. But the catch is that instead of how SFxT has tag partners of each universe i.e. Marduk/King or Kuma/Heihachi etc. but here there would be default tag partners accross fanchises like a Dragunov/Rolento "army" team or a Julia/Fuerte "luchador" team.

But ah well, can't wait to see how it develops.

I just think the fact you have access to 2 complete movelists during a match rather than one IMO adds so much more fun factor over the traditional refined 1v1 matchups.

They're probably averse to doing tag due to market saturation. MvC, SFxTK, TTT2, etc. Hell isn't BBCSEX getting a tag mode?

Not enough Real, Honest Fighting™ these days.

It also means concentration divided in half. It's already hard to remember every possible option in multiple situations of one character, not to mention constant analysis of not only your own, but opponents character.

That's why I'll always will prefer one on one.

There's saying in Polish: "Rozmieniać się na drobne", couldn't be translated properly, but it says about doing too many things at once without focusing on the core of the matter, the important part. That's kinda like most tag games for me - the more distractions there less focus on the core of combat.

AAK

I say bring it on! Garnering victory after all that extra analysis only makes winning that much more satisfying!

As for the market saturation, all those games are adding it because it's simply superior (IMO).
Don't mean to sound all snarky

You'll never be as efficient in battle playing characters X and Y in the same match then playing exclusively character X or Y.

It's not extra analysis it's your focus that gets divided, depending on your skills with character X and Y, it could be 70 - 30 not 50-50. Opponent has the same. To me it simplifies flow of battle. No one will be at 100% focus and skills on their single character as he must take in account too many variables. You're fighting against Ryu and 5 seconds later it's Bryan. You gotta adjust, fast, and you know it's not gonna be finesse like when you're focused from the very beginning on fighting Bryan alone and thinking about your opponents strategies.
Constant changing takes away from strategy and more into reaction game and even random stuff.
But that's me, everyone to it's own.

You definitely have a valid point. I 100% agree, that you'd never be as proficient controlling 2 characters as you are controlling one, but that's only one side of the coin.

You have to also look at how the partners you play complement each other. Like the example of Bryan again. Let's say I'm playing a team of Anna-Bryan. If I'm playing Anna alone, and I land a FC,d/f+1 from a distant angle, it's almost near impossible to get a dash into d+4,1 to continue the juggle and she's just left with d+3,4 for the maximum damage. But with Bryan in my team, she can do the FC,d/f+1 and then do d+3,2~5, tag combo's Bryan in who can easily land a f+4,1 B! to continue the juggle. So it's something like that which characters can complement each other for, making Anna's low forearm sweep much scarier.

So like you said even if a player knows his characters in a team in a scale of 70%-30%... BUT some of the tools the 30% can bring to the table will make your point character a far more dangerous adversary!

EDIT: But there are other advantages to 1 v 1 as well. For one thing, the graphics would definitely be improved and the game would be a lot easier to balance if it didn't have so many intricate tag mechanisms so we'd be able to play it sooner. :)

You are indeed right with your example. I have trouble thinking about 2 characters as one combined tool. Well, I gotta step up, but I take tekken matches way too seriously and in tense moment I know I will forget all my tagging combos and turn into Single Mode. Lol.

To be honest Tekken Tag is the only tag game I can handle decently without breaking concentration. SxT will be a headache for me, so I hope Harada will spare me the pain. ;)

1v1 and 2v2 can each have their pros and cons. I prefer tag, though, because it's a lot more chaotic and there's more tension build up when you have to maintain health for two different people. Plus, tag battles are a whole lot more fun to watch on streams.

In any case, if they end up doing single play, then I'm assuming it will be a new system. Harada had expressed interest in adding no more than one meter also so perhaps each character will have specials? Whatever they do, it's a golden opportunity to experiment new ideas that, if successful, may also help out in the development of Tekken 7.

My hopes for TekkenXSF is basically that it is Tekken 5 with SF characters. No bound, no comeback mechanic, and no tag. Would probably be instant GOTY for me.

That would be good.

If you look at Harada's twitter posts over last year you can see he'd been confused, bummed maybe even depressed over txsf. Implementing fireballers into Tekken ended harder then he thought.
At one point he said he'll have to build a new engine from scratch for this. We can guess he tried to use current engine but it didn't work well with Hadouken! Hadouken! Hadouken!

Lately he'd been much more optimistic even said we'll see TxSF in 2012.

Wonder how it looks. I just hope it's not dumbed down.

Done listening now, i'd rank it like this compared to the other Tekken soundtracks.

God Tier
Tekken 3, 4 & 5

Mid Tier
Tekken Tag 2
Tekken 6

"Not for me, but i can understand why some like it" - Tier
Tekken Tag

"What the fuck were you thinking" - Tier
Tekken 5: DR

Anyway, these were the standout tracks for me:

The Strongest Iron Arena (Silver Mix) - Arena
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B41_tWmQUjk

Jin Kazama (Far East Mix) - Hall of Judgement
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgBcfcdbs0Y

Abyss of Time - Wayang Kulit
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybwmnPJuijU

Abyss of Time - LONG EDIT
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Kb3JR_W3LE

Fiji (Paraiso Mix) - Eternal Paradise
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0QgemlTIws

Yun - Dusk After the Rain
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmKHC2K-Kpw

That Abyss of Time tracks sounds alot like my favorite track from Tekken 6, Karma (Electric Fountain). They are both Akitaka Tohyama tracks, so that makes sense i guess. So awesome.

Oh and the first seven minutes of the Tekken Blood Vengeance movie is up. Straight up Oscar winning potential.

This was so impressive. We need a Death by Degrees 2 and I haven't even played the first.

Not bad at all, though Jin's eng voice - lol.

Play it, it's great if you can get used to fucked up dual stick controls. It's basically Resident Evil Tekken. The game made me really like Nina for the first time, but wait till you see what they did to Anna.

DBD Anna >>>>>>>>>> Tekken Anna.

If only I still had a PS2......or if my PS3 was BC. :/
I recall seeing DBD images of Anna and she does look a lot better in her DBD form but her face also seems to have lost that sort of..........persona and smirk........that she's known for.

I've watched the Nina-Anna sequence in Blood Vengeance about 5 times now, lol. The improper lip synching might just have been the youtube video (I hope).

Naw, the improper lip synch is there. If you go from watching the JP, then to ENG, it's the same lip movement. I'd rather watch in in JP anyway so I'm cool.

Oh, that's probably it. Switch to English dubbing might have done that.

Eh, it's pretty typical with Japanese films where the English VO try to mimic the lip movements to the best of their ability. So you get in most cases different dialog compared to the translated text.

Awesome render.

She actually has a persona in this. Same with Nina. Cutscenes with them are just awesome.
