Tekken Tag Tournament 2 |OT| Awaiting the "Final Battle"

Electric pancakes!

A cg-trailer would really be enough, but I don't think that will happen.

Pancakes that could be only eaten by Mishima bloodline.

We pretty much spoiled the story of Tekken 7.

I'm still waiting for this to become reality. 9 year old cg still unsurpassed. Nobody even has a hd version. :(

Evo is going to be so hype.

If only it was 3/5.... 2/3 just feels way too inadequate :( But Tekken Casino is going to be incredible!

This whole Strong Style thing is starting to look silly. The European qualifier is now supported by namco, madcatz, might have more entrants than actual SS AND is being streamed.

If we're lucky, SS will have one stream station where we will get to watch wonkey's matches.

wtf.

But hey, it's Bronson's tournament so whatever he says goes I guess.

Dang, I love myself some European Tekken. I remember Bronson was saying that Asim might be there, I looked through the facebook post outlining the entrants and I didn't see his name, :( I really wanna see a showdown between Asim, Harry Potter, and Malekith to see who is the European undisputed champ.

Dunno what's up with me and AAK connection lately. :(

It's not just you, I have the same problem when I play against Ninth Pixel as well. Ever since I moved to this new apartment I've been having these problems. I tried port forwarding hoping that would solve the problem (it improved it exponentially for Soul Calibur V) but I still have terrible disconnects with a lot of players :( I really enjoy playing against Ninth Pixel as well. I dunno what else I can do :(

Do you mean pair play... or team tournaments? If you mean by team tournaments I do know that the A-cho channel on youtube has a bunch of 2v2 tournament matches that go down in Japanese arcades.

Anakin once did offline pair play sets on one of his house streams. That's the closest thing I've seen to high level pair play in this game. I wish it happened more often though.

Pair play in TTT2 induces some of lag in the game from when I tried it. It can be fun in a party way... but I'm personally not one to participate in a competitive nature.

It's pretty popular online and most of times it's a handicap. I generally win these, imagining how opponents curse at each other for tagging in at the worst moment, lol.

Online happened. :(
What is your goal in online ranked?

EDIT: My man, you went from orange, all the way through yellow, and back to 11 dan?

At what rank would you be done? If I were you, if I ever got my team to Vanquisher, I would never play ranked again.

If I got demoted to Pugilist, I definitely would have stopped there.

This is the first time I think I've ever wanted to mute a Tekken stream. This girl is doing nothing but talking about lame sex jokes and completely unrelated things constantly. She isn't even trying to complement MarkMan's match commentary. She's causing them to have an arbitrary conversation 70% of the time. They have 1000+ people finally watching Tekken and the public can't even appreciate the matches with her talking about random shit constantly. There were some REALLY high quality matches taking place too.

What a waste...

EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm OK with side comments to change the pace and all. Aris does that too. But he only does that occasionally through matches and usually saves them for in between rounds and such. When you CONSTANTLY keep talking about random shit you really don't belong there.

Regardless, it's a shame you can't watch the archives without paying for a toughcookietv subscription. The level of Asian Tekken is really high.

Yo Tera. This is the online cycle. Just keep playing and you'll get back up. I get demoted and promoted all the time as does everyone else here.

I have previously fallen similarly in ranks. Some days you are just not in the right mindset to be playing and you keep playing anyway.

My biggest fall was from Brawler to Disciple and now I'm a Marauder. I only go to ranked when I feel like I'm in the condition to win a few times, but I play like shit most of the time^^

I think the red ranks are doable.

But I don't think it's really worth worrying about. I think ranked is a good way to expose your weaknesses. Just matter of getting off your butt and fixing them is all.

Alright lads, I should have done this sooner, I'm new to Gaf (well I've been lurking for a while). Shall I just drop my PSN here and see who'll spar me? 'BoltGear'. Looking forward to ya's.

Welcome! What region you from by the way? I'd like to add but I'm afraid of laggy long distance connections haha.

OH God... They brought back the girl who knows nothing about fighting games to commentate top 8 of Tekken.

SEAM trolling Tekken fans hardcore. Even though EVO relegates Tekken to finish on Friday unlike the main games on Sunday, AT LEAST they have the decency to respect the game withe having 2 legitimate commentators. /rant

EDIT: Okay she's not as retarded as yesterday and keeping quiet most of the time during the matches.

Good games all! I'm glad that you have progressed a lot since I last played, Boutdown!

I actually played some rank after everyone called it a night. Got demoted and then promoted back to where I was. Overall, it was a pretty miserable experience due to a combination of my rust and some questionable connections, because, you know, online.

Dang, Book 6-1 over AK in the grand finals. All because of this character:

But seriously, good stuff to Book! That was some awesome high level Tekken there. Looks like we won't see the Bronson vs AK finals at EVO :p

Yeah GG's today. And Tera said it best, you can play online for fun and it can showcase some of your faults just like a player match does.

I be switching back and forth from Europe (Ireland) to America (New York).
I'm living in NY for the next 4~5 years so USA region for now :p Let's hope Harada pulls of that global net code he's aiming for next gen by the time I move back ;)

I firmly believe that TxSF won't be revealed until Smash Bros and Rise of Incarnates are released.

Also, even if were Namco were to reveal something at EVO they'd want to do it after the time allotted to their game. Since Tekken is gonna finish Friday, it's not gonna have a big crowd of people watching it. I feel that if Namco wanted to reveal something, they'd want everyone's attention.

Yay for incarnates I guess..

idk it just doesn't appeal to me.
I want some Tekken news but I understand the hell they must be going through making Tekken x Street Fighter,
I expect something on the 20th anniversary.

If nothing gets revealed at EVO, then SD Comic-Con?

Saw that yesterday, I wonder what Harada is up to.

Although, TTT2 is soo good, so theres no real rush to announce a new Tekken is there...? When I think of TTT2, I think of it as the pinnacle of the Tekken games thus far. Pretty much every character from the Tekkenverse is in the game, and the mechanics are super balanced (arguably). Not to mention its well polished (customization, Tekken Tunes, Gallery, etc) and has well functioning online modes.

But I again wonder what direction Tekken will go after this. I doubt bounds will return, and I also doubt the next Tekken will have a big roster. So, will the future Tekken be a modified T6 with no bounds and less characters? That's not necessarily bad. I remember on Aris' podcast the idea of having Tekken 7 being "bare boned" (i.e Soul Calibur II). The simplicity could attract newcomers, yet the concept of a solid fighting game would can be maintained.

That said, I don't think the Tekken franchise needs to "move-on". TTT2 is REALLY good lol. However, Bandai-Namco is in the money-making business, so we're likely to see a future title. Due to the largeness and complexity of TTT2, I doubt something like that will be replicated, nor does it need to be. Looking in retrospect TTT2 seemed like a gift for the "hardcore/veterans/mainstayers", essentially those who have known Tekken for years and years. Now that those mainstayers are getting older, I often think of how (or if) Harada might go back to the basics, trying to attract younger, newer audiences. I can see a 13-year old who has not been around Tekken at all, probably won't want to pick up the largeness of TTT2. Its as if TTT2 is an "old mans" game. That's not necessarily bad, but the game/franchise may not survive if its an old mans game ONLY. Its got to appeal to both. And that appeal doesn't have to compromise its integrity as a fighting game.

Is there a stream going on? No one posts a link.

Don't depress me guys. Harada you don't yank my chain. What was this 2 game announcements in 2014? What was this E3 is no fighting game event regarding question of tekken news?

Seriously kick me in the balls and stomp my head if they don't announce the fucking TxSF on Evo.

The last straw.

There have been known concepts since at least 2012 I remember a Japanese site where allegedly Harada talks about something like Ganryu's daughter as an idea.

So there could be another time jump who knows.
