Nice first episode. I felt it was a little bit on the short side, especially exploration wise.
The self stitching scene though really hurt, wow. Good idea Telltale.
Hopefully the season pass goes up soon, was a little bit disappointed that only the single episode was available on the US PSN store, then got hopeful when I saw the in-game buy season pass button and then got disappointed again when I got an error message.
Checked this morning and still no season pass option on PS3. If I buy the first episode do I get the season pass at a reduced price? Maybe I should stop being cheap and just buy each episode individually.
No you don't, and I bet that's why Telltale hasn't put the season pass up yet, so chumps like us give in eventually. Stay strong friend and keep waiting!
Situation 1: I buy episode one, and THEN the season pass (whenever it gets released on the store.) The season pass would have to sense that I bought episode 1 already and drop to 15$ to keep the total to 20$.
Situation 2: I buy the season pass for 20$ (whenever it gets released). Episode 1 should now be available for download for free.
I get that episode 1 acts as the "base game" and you need it, but somehow I doubt the season pass price can fluctuate depending on which option you choose.
THe way I understand it, according to the TTgames who posts on PSblog DO NOT BUY the 1st episode if you are planning to get the season pass. Because $4.99 + $19.99 ends up as much as buying each episodes individually. And if you buy the 1st episode and then buy the season pass you will NOT BE REFUNDED of the $4.99 you paid for the 1st episode .
The only way to get the discount is to wait for the season pass to become available for $19.99 then buy it, then you download Ep 1.
ed. PS3 version, TTGames so far is not clear of this issue on the ps3 side.

Hey there! The season pass offers a 25% saving over purchasing the episodes individually. You’d need to wait for the season pass in order to get the discount – since the season pass includes Episodes 1-5, purchasing Episode 1 first would negate your discount. If you’re planning to wait, hang in there!
I presume its $19.99

Exactly. This is the way it should be, it's just fucking stupid that TT doesn't have the pass up yet. Everyone who's bought the first episode is going to pay full price this season. Don't know what that other poster was saying about buying Ep. 1 and then buying the season pass afterwards. The fuck?
In Xbox, you buy the first episode then, in the in-game store you buy the Season Pass.
In the description of the Season Pass said something about "episodes 2-5", not including episode 1, and "to not buy it from the Xbox Store, but to buy it from the in-game store or you'll be paying twice", or something like that.
Episode 1 is separate, the pass is 2-5 so it saves $5. I have no idea why it would be different elsewhere.
If each episode is $5, then 1-5 each separately is $25. $20 is what it should be for everything, so it seems like they just meant to have 1-5 all in the $20 on PSN but...uh, let you overpay potentially. So if they don't have that pass up, that is insanely dumb.
Tried to dl the demo on ps3 and buy the season pass. It's an option in the episodes menu but just keeps giving me an error message when I try to buy. Them telltale fucks!lol
By the way guys I have been playing this game and something has ticked me off for quite some time.
Why hasn't anyone figured out a cure? I mean, it seems very straight forward considering the culture is dormant/incubated inside living beings (all of them somehow!) and a bite wound from someone 'turned' primes the process and turns the victim.
I'm no biologist but doesn't this make the illness on par with rabies/Dengue fever/common bite infections? Did all the scientists and random people with microscopes and petri dishes immediately die out at the start of the outbreak?
I guess I'm sort of frustrated with the constant tunnel vision 'survivalist' theme with 'no time to think or do or reason just do it 3... 2... 1...'

Where is someone going to have the safety and technology to run a lab? At this point in the show there are/is a scientist(s) but they were still figuring out just how the mutation worked, a cure was so far off...
There was a fully functional running farm with electric fences in the second episode of the first season. Most cities were bust but rural areas were still fine aside from the unrealistic population of zombies peppering the countryside. You don't need much for a 'lab'. A few lights, fridges, warm light globes, glassware.
I'm going to assume the game/show continue avoid such circumstances based on 'but how will we make our emotional social disaster pornography??'
Maybe they're classical zombies. Voodoo and black magic and jazz music.
I'm in Australia but i'm using an US account, specifically for this game. We never got the walking dead here, or if we did it was way later. Most likely a ratings issue. So i'm looking to do that again, worked flawlessly with season 1 and 400 days.
Anyway is there a date or will they just put up without notice (season pass)

Early TV-Series & Comics Spoiler regarding the cause of the disease:
The CDC wasn't even able to identify the cause of the infection. They had no idea whether it is viral, bacterial, fungal... as the complex blew up with the last remaining scientist inside. According to him, the french were onto something, but that's all that is known.
The bite doesn't trigger anything. It kills the victim through bacterial infection (yeah, much too fast) or through trauma/blood loss. This much was confirmed by Kirkman. EVERYONE comes back, not just the victims of a Walker-bite.
Straightforward? C'mon, why do you think there's still no cure for HIV, or the Common Cold? Don't you think it might be a little bit more complicated than that?
Just indentifying the corona-virus as the cause of SARS in 2003 took a couple of months - almost half a year - how much time did it take for the world to completely go to shit in TWD? A couple of weeks?

While it is true that one could improvise "a lab", you're certainly going to need more than what you just listed to research an infectious disease, even more find and produce a cure. I'm talking electron microscopes, centrifuges, genetic sequenzers, a whole lot of computing power and stuff I didn't even hear about in med school... not to mention all the chemicals and other compounds you'd need to perform your tests.
All you really get is saving like $5. Season passes are not worth it, at least for me. Specially for Telltale episodic series. Since they rarely release the game episodes every month. Sometimes it can go even longer than that just for the next episode.
I did do it for Walking Dead season 1 though, but it came with an XBM theme. This time around I'm buying episodes as they are released.
It's possible that, in the entire TWD universe, someone has. But since we're only exposed to specific locales, it's tough to say.
Really, I'd hope that if they ever uncovered a cure, it would involve also revealing the leadup to the outbreak. But Kirkman said they'll never show how it happened, so that's too bad.

My hope is that the game has two endings, one where she lives and one where she dies, and your decisions through the season determine which ending you get.
and it really went uphill from there. Also glad that they finally improved their engine, the game runs a lot smoother on the PS3 than the first one. Wish Wolf among us would get a similar update but I doubt it.
What's also kind if aggravating is that TellTale doesn't give the option to turn off the "so and so will remember that" notifications while still keeping the more visible interaction icons. It's pretty weird that they just can't give us the same options as in the first one.

Notice this as well. It only gets bad when you see "loading" on screen, but gets smooth after that. And yeah. Wolf Among Us episode 1 on PS3 runs just like the first season of Walking Dead, not very well.
