Right, Alita Battle Angel is a good example of an action female lead done right. Atomic Blonde is a good example of a female John Wick. She's also a pre-packaged bad ass. And yeah, it's hard to suspend disbelief when a 135 pound model with zero muscle mass and development is beating up a dozen special forces dudes. At least Keanu put in the work on the range and in the gym to sell the physicality of the role.

One of the big issues I had with the film was whenShit irks me to hellthe Rev9 crashed a drone into the group and a bunch of border patrol agents. Yet afterwards the border patrol agents just carried on with business as usual and put them in a cell with gen pop without even locking the base down. Like wtf someone just crashed one of your own drones into your own guys killing a bunch of em and you don't even lock down the base? I mean all they had to do was check the drone control stations and they would have found four dead people and put the base on lockdown.

Should have thrown away the Cyberdyne subplot like in T1. That's something that the movie didn't need. It's a 30 minute sidequest that nukes the pacing of the movie and the T1000 literally peaces out for the duration and then shows up once it's over. Arnie shoots 4 strategically placed cop cars with the minigun. How lame. Only neat thing was him kneecapping 12 swat officers, it was charmingly robotic.
No? There's a couple of pick-up shots of Cyberdyne, Dyson, the chip and hand pepperred in early on, which is what like 2 minutes total? The subplot is set up during the drive to wherever when Arnie says the shit was invented by Miles Dyson, then pause for character development and setting up some of the weapons that will be used, which is the same beat as the part in T1 when they make pipebombs. Up until this point T2 beat for beat matches T1. At this point it veeres off into Sarah's home invasion of Dyson and then the trip to Cyberdyne, with lame action because our goodguys can't earnestly fuck up anyone. T1000 is nowhere to be seen until the end when he commanders or steals a helicopter, I don't remember which one. This whole thing takes about 30 minutes, and once it's done T2 goes back to matching T1 beat for beat, big final truck chase, end up at industrial plant, terminator dies. Fin.
