I bet you the bricked challenge has brought in a lot of new subscriptions though, they got me at least.
Good for them. However, I wasn't arguing against Bricked (even though it's not really my cup of tea). Just saying that when your video content is heavily skewed towards one thing (and let's be honest, it has very little to do with what Tested is about), it becomes kind of telling what the site is going through. For comparison (and maybe it's an unfair one), when GiantBomb is doing Endurance Runs, it isn't the only video being posted. Anyway, maybe they could take it to the community to see what people would like to see in a period of dry spell.
My being sick since last Monday has dramatically impacted the amount of video we have done too. On normal weeks during the amazing test we've had 5x app of the day + 2-3 product videos. This is the danger of running a site like this with so few people. Since most of our video content relies on having 2 people present, when one person is out, shit stops. When GB has one or even two people out, there are still 3 more to cover. We don't have that luxury.
We should be back to a fairly normal schedule next week. It takes a bit to ramp back up.
Just wondering what Norm's been up to outside of a handful of articles? I don't want to sounds like an ass, but I'd imagine he could show off a few iOS apps without you? It's a bit troubling that when one of you is out, the main point of the site dies.
(That's the danger of letting people pay for your content, us assholes feel like we have the right to question what you're doing!)
All those posts on the site don't assign and edit themselves. The reason they're interesting, have good photos, and are informative is that Norm spends a shitload of time working on that stuff.
On this week's episode, Will makes his triumphant return, Gary loves anti-nerd media, and Norm checks his email. All that, plus the latest on Mobile World Congress, Windows 8 Consumer Preview, next week's iPad event, and fake outtakes!

There will be a live episode tomorrow where they will finish their kits.
Tiniest problem in the world:
The segment break music is bad, but it's worst how it goes straight from loud music to a second or two silence before Will quietly starts again. Pacing, people. Pacing.
What's everybody's thoughts on Tested Piracy-gate? As far as I can remember, Norm has not ranted against pirates before so at least he's not a hypocrite. Will is fervently anti-piracy, and while apparently he's not the one who actually downloaded Photoshop, his questionable explanation dances around the fact that what they're actually doing is illegal.
Huh?

I'm referencing the Photoshop torrent in the Win 8 video btw
And even I am trying to be more moderate these days.Yeah. I don't care. The only one who goes into zealous territory about piracy is Gary anyway.

TBS gives me all I need, baby! BAZINGA!Stop torrenting Big Bang Theory episodes, Gary.

Nope! Your nerd rage only fuels my enjoyment of it!Stop watching Big Bang Theory Gary...
I like BBT too *shrugs*
Yes that gets old fast. I love Wolowitz otherwise though.I really hate the "Howard and his screaming mother" gag. Her voice *shudders*
There's a bit of a Lego sale in Canada today at indigo.ca.
Picked up the X-wing and Tie Fighter kits... but I can't believe they're 60 dollars each. When did Lego get so expensive?!

We discussed it at length in the thread on Tested. The TLDR is that we bought a legit copy to use for benchmarking, but activation prevents. Because it has to be moved from machine to machine as we test new machines, eventually normal copies stop activating properly. Adobe limits the number of times you can make that transfer, and there's also a fairly real chance that we'll fuck up and leave our real copy activated when we send a machine back make it too high risk to use a legit copy. We tried using demos at Maximum PC when Adobe changed the activation policy (Adobe used to provide copies with 50 activations for benchmarking purposes), but for some reason that I don't remember, Gordon said the demo was unreliable. Hence, torrents. FWIW, the license that we use for benchmarking has never been used for actual work. It's purely a benchmarking tool.
TLDR for the TLDR: activation is a hassle for benchmarking
