Thank you Nintendo and Squaresoft. FF newbie giving props

OMFG HOLY MOTHER OF MARY IN HEAVEN I CANT BELIEVE IT WTF WHERE ARE MY SEDATIVES AAAAHHH
I picked up FF I & II as well as a DS yesterday at EB and I gotta tell ya....it's so good to have Square back on Nintendo systems. I played the game almost nonstop at my job yesterday. It fucking rocks to no end! Character sprites and spells look so ridiculous on the DS screen it makes me want to eat them. I'm already up to level 21 with 22,000 Gil and level 4 magic. Getting to be kinda on the easy side but it's still a fun little romp so far.

I can't tell you how good it feels to finally be playing the Final Fantasy franchise! The only other game I have ever played in the series in VI. And that was 10 years ago! Square's decision to release these remakes, as well as the upcoming III remake for the DS couldn't have come at a better time. It gives me the perfect opportunity to start the FF franchise as a complete newbie.

After I beat III for the DS I plan on going to ebay and buying the import versions of FF IV and V for the Super Famicom, then play them on ZSNES with the translation patch. Will then play through VI again for the 2nd time, and finally VII for the psx. Not sure I wanna go past that :)

Anyway I just wanted to give Nintendo and Squaresoft a humble thank you for putting this out and allowing me to take it anywhere and play it on the road.

I hate old games.

old, classic games make the world go 'round. It's kinda like U2...they get better with age :)

I can't wait for FFIII either (is that US edition or nihon; ie chronologically... seeing how the US series skipped a couple of games).

I agree isamu, I have played very very little for FFI or II and it's nice to actually get around to playing them under a standard I'd feel more comfortable with enjoying. Not to say I dislike NES games, I love them, but there was just something that didn't click with me whenever I tried to replay those old versions compared to these. I also haven't gotten to play FFIII-V, so I'm not sure how I'm going to handle those. Hopefully Square will put IV-VI out on the DS as well, and *hopefully* in bundled forms similar to the PSX after 3.
