Now Rogowska is 2 breaks up? When I was watching she was terrible
Took the set, hanging strong in the third.

Dellacqua broke back in the second, trying to consolidate...

Holy shit Fed is in some trouble. If Andreev can take the first set and annoy Federer in the second, he could take the game!

Federer has only won 49% of the time after losing the 1st set.

Andreev takes 1st set!

A'ight Dellacqua's stealing this third set at last. Come on girl!

Meanwhile, sad to see Rogowska stumble in her third. Valiant attempt.

The 2008 Australian Open champ has seemed completely uninterested in this year's tournament since arriving here last week.

The Russian beauty only just attended Sunday night's IMG Tennis Player's Party at Crown, barely spending three minutes "mingling" with guests.

And the answer to the low-key approach could simply be, she just doesn't want to be here.

The glamour girl of tennis is apparently not as fond of Melbourne's sunny tournament as she is of London's rain-soaked equivalent.

She told fans on her official website that she was focusing her attention this year on Wimbledon's grand slam event, because it was "the most important".

"Wimbledon is always the most special, the most important, and the one I look forward to playing to the most," she wrote.

:lol

If she's going to approach grand slams or any competition this way I don't think she'll ever return to greatness.

Fed's ultimately gonna win. I won't believe that he'll be upset until it actually happens. Fed has escaped moments like these way too often

Way too often? I can't remember the last time he's been down 2-1 :lol

Going to tie-break.

At this point I'd place my bets on the upset, boo.

I like quoting myself. Nom nom crow.

Really, I should know after having watched him enough that Fed can dig out of these things, but until those last few points he hadn't been displaying anything to show me that he was going to >_<

Now please win in 4 and stop roller coaster-ing me in the 1st round of play =(

Andreev had 5 forehand unforced errors and 3 on set points.

Like they said on ESPN, this is why players have the careers that they have. Some can get it done, and some can't. And against Federer, most won't (as seen plenty of times). They get close....and then fold.

ETA: Fed will win this set 6-2 or win 7-5 in the 5th

try 6-0:lol

oh fed, you genius

Feds a funny guy, "I prefer the easy matches but this works too". :lol Jim Courier holds the best post match interviews.

An hour and a bit left for Hewitt!

Is it normal for Fed to serve so poorly? His first serve always seemed to be faulty. I don't think he can reach semi final serving like that.

And Blake did too!

I'm eager to see which dog makes the final this year(If Gulbis finally gets his shit together he could get to the semis), and of course hope that both Williams sister lose in the early stages(At least Serena, Venus is not so bad..)..

:lol :lol

I wish they were showing the Ryan Harrison vs. Tipsarevic match.

Tipsarevic losing to Federer 2 years ago at the australian open was one of the most memorable matches ever. And I also want to see how this 17 year old american from Texas is.

Expect Hewitt to drop a couple of his first service games. Dude does not start well.

Meanwhile, Matosevic should be starting his match at about the same time Hewitt does. Three Aussies are through (Tomic, Stosur, Dellacqua) and three left to go in the next 4 or so hours (Matosevic, Hewitt, Molik).

Tip's showing well at 2 sets to love, starting the third.

Soderling is gone. First major upset on the men's side.
Well, I'd say Stepanek(13) losing first round is a major upset, despite not technically being Top 10 atm.

Dunno how, but I COMPLETELY overlooked/forgot about that one. >_<

Disappointed in Gulbis. Didn't get to see much of the match since it was playing while Federer was on court. Although I DID have the option :). I have DirecTV (and they broadcast 5 TV courts simultaneously).

I really want to see Gulbis have a breakthrough.

Come on, Oudin. Just hold serve twice and you're big winna

*1 set apiece. Had double match point too, doh

tripple actually. I remember her choking away plenty of match points at the US Open too. Ultimately she won most of those matches of course, but we'll see if she can repeat.

Well, I don't want to jinx it, lol, but yeah Hewitt is KILLIN' it against this Brazilian.

And DAMN. Matosevic lost his first set tiebreak 7-9 against the unranked Swiss. :'( Almost none of our Aussie arsenal have been (are) worthy of being called walkovers. Great efforts from all.

Well done, Hewy. Good, solid first round performance. :D

Meanwhile, Matosevic is hanging in there against the Swiss guy.

EDIT: Damn, Matosevic lost ANOTHER set tie-break.

I am NOT digging Novak's outfit. I abhor the color pink (especially neon pink).
Sounds hot to me.

A question -- are we allowed to double post if we're discussing a live running event, and there's been sufficient time between posts? :/

EDIT:

Meanwhile, Molik is ON FIRE. Talk about coming back from retirement!

And Matosevic lost two set tiebreaks 7-9 and 3-7, but won the third set and is up to 2-0 in the fourth set.

Man, if only he'd won ONE of those tie-break sets...

Wow, sucks for Soderling. I thought he would be a bit of a dark horse for the tourney. JC Ferrero too. Youhzny vs Gasquet looks good.

People who hate Lleyton Hewitt -- you probably oughtn't watch his second round match. He's up against American David Young.

David Young is black.
