Backe is the man...he can hit and he's throwing his fastball mid 90's and his curve is dropping in at 71...dare I say he looks Roy-O like :D

The airport was still open down here. Cubs were supposed to be in Miami Thursday. Friday was definitely playable, even Sunday was playable. Point being, if they actually flew down like they were supposed to do atleast one game would have been played.

Marlins have a tough schedule left also. They still have another double header they have to get in. I'm pretty sure Marlins and Cubs have almost the same number of games in the same amount of time. Cubs also whined a little too much, they shouldn't be getting an extra home game.

Just make sure Wrigley Field is still standing when they get there. Don't wany any loose pieces falling down on someone. Get a new stadium. :p

They didnt lose any ground and they cant afford too while the scrubbies play the expos.

Hopefully the Cards will beat the shit out of the Padres and the Stros gained half a game on the Giants and Marlins.

:lol Yankees are a bunch of assholes. Aubrey Huff couldn't even make the trip cause he's flooded in his neighborhood--cops tried to send a rescue vehicle and couldn't get to him so the DRays are without their best hitter.

Well, his fastball has been consistently 93...Roy's is 96/97. Who knows, maybe he can gain some more arm strength.

Hey, if the Marlins do have to lose a home game and play a double header in Chicago.Why don't the Cubs and Marlins play the one game at the White Sox stadium? That would split the fanbase nice and make things a little more even. White Sox fans would definitely cheer on the Marlins.

MiG's So Crazy It Might Work Scenario:
Chicago flies in to Florida after their day off on Thursday.
Mets are playing IN Florida Thursday.

Florida will already be home, and Chicago has the day off on Thursday.

Play the Friday game in Florida.
Saturday Doubleheader @ Wrigley
Sunday day game @ Wrigley


What's wrong with that?

I'm not sure how long it takes, but the Dolphins play Sunday at home and need to convert the stadium for football. I'm guessing they need Friday to do that.

OCT. 3 Dolphins vs NEW YORK JETS 4:15 P.M.
**OCT. 4 Marlins vs CHICAGO CUBS - possible make up date for the game.


All these games are at Joe Robb...er...Pro Player Stadium.

Eagles? You mean the Phillies. :p

After that last Phillies game, the 23rd the Marlins have an away game on that Friday. I'm guessing it takes Friday and Saturday to convert the stadium to football conditions.

The Cubs don't want to play Oct. 4 because the next day would be the wild card game. MLB is kind of against it also because Oct. 4 is reserved just in case theirs a tie.

Florida has to play 3 double headers. Two against the Cubs, and then one more with the Expos.

Thinngs could get even messier(sp?) if Hurricane Ivan comes rolling by.

Goddamn, Roy O's curveball is just nasty tonight... no one is going to hit that pitch fair unless he makes a mistake with it...

I've seen him pitch a lot and I've never seen him with command on his curveball as he has tonight.
