wow, talk about a crappy gamecast. Watching mlb.com's gamecast of Boston with guy on 2nd and 3rd. 2 - 1 game. Then I think it is weird cause nothing is happening. I go to CBS sportsline and the game is over, Boston wins 3-2. Gamecast just put in strike 1, lol

Joe, couldn't expect them to get out of 2nd and 3rd with none out that easily. They probably should have let Ryan finish though. I'd take the guy with the 2.20 ERA over the guy with a 4 ERA any day.

BTW Marlins lost today too. STick a fork in them, they are done. Sorry Scoobert. :p

yep, and all them analysts predicted Houston and Florida to continue to make that insane push. Its hard to carry a streak like that to the very end of the season. Anyway, almost predictable ways to get a late season win by both the Cubs and Red Sox. Why the hell do they do that to us all the time.

Stros better score a ton of runs tonight.

LOL I just saw on baseball tonight the Stros defense giving up two runs on an infield ground ball which turned into an error.

3-2 Giants!

Giants up 4-2 now. Good, good.

This may sound crazy but I want the Giants to win 2 of 3 against the Stros. St. Louis is gonna lay down for Houston while the Giants will have to play 6 of thier last nine against LA and the other three against San Diego.

I still have no idea why they didn't walk Bonds to load the bases... Thats a pitch around situation no matter who you're facing.

LeBron loves his girlfriend. There is no other woman in the world he’d rather have. The problem is, Dwyane’s not a woman.
Only three guys can pitch on this damn team...

Lidge

YES GIANTS!!!

9-2 Final Score.

1.5 GAMES BEHIND DODGERS. That's right, 1.5. Giants are really on fire right now, and I think we will come out of this series 3-0. Then its the dodgers, padres, and dodgers again (wow!). If we go into this postseason (considering we make it, which is highly likely) like the marlins did last year, I think we can make it all the way. LETS GO GIANTS! BARRY DESERVES A RING!

Ichiro goes 5-5

EDIT: HES AMAZING.

george sisler was even more amazing.

in his 1920 season in which he hit the record 257 hits he hit twice as many doubles than ichiro , 4 times as many triples, 19 homeruns, 122rbis, even had more stolen bases.

ichiro is pretty damn special though.

Didn't he get walked once in a while as well?

his walks are comparable to ichiros but his obp was 40 points higher.

sisler also finished the season with 399 total bases ichiro has 295.

You know, in a way, I'm rooting for the Giants to win. If the Giants keep on winning, and the Cubs keep on winning, we will both make the playoffs.

Here are the standings right now:

LA 86-64
Giants 85-66
Cuibs 84-66

The Giants win the next two (Which could be posssible. Although you gotta go through Oswalt tonight but he is somewhat hurt), and the Dodgers lose the next two against SD (Very possible), and the Cubs win the next two and Pittsburg (Highly probable), the standings look like this:

Giants 87-66
Dodgers 86-66
Cubs 86-66

Leaving LA and San Fran to play each other 6 times yet. That would be like the perfect scenerio for the Cubs. Cubs just need to keep winning they will be in. Giants control their own destiny too and can win the west by keeping on winning.

Nomar should be back in the lineup tonight. We've made this huge push without him in the lineup. We should be able to do much better with him back in the lineup! Neifi has done a fine job though while he was out.

If we win every game the rest of the way we are guaranteed the wild card. So, uh, don't lose cubs! :p

John Smoltz got his 40th save last night and completed his 57th game, guaranteeing him a contract with the Braves for next year. Yay! At $12 million, he must be wondering why he didn't switch to relieving earlier, for that kind of dough in that kind of position. ;)

Cubs walk in the first run when Perez loses control. Zambrano meanwhile, dammmn! He's straight dealin. 93mph fastball, then 97mph heat, followed by a 63mph breaking ball with tons of movement right down the plate. 1-0 lead never felt so secure

here comes the trouble inning. Guy on second in the 7th, 1 out. Get out of this he's in the clear. 2 outs now. 2 strikes on 3rd guy. 97 heat still, damn. Blown by him without a bit of contact! 97 again! Zambrano's fucking brilliant tonight!

How many damn pitches are they get let El Duque throw? Shit, he's at 120...

He just gave up a triple and two runs on pitch 125. Sometimes, It boggles the mind. Ace or not, El Duque pitched like shit for the inning prior and letting him stay in was just stupid.

you know, I'd blame Sosa but Alou is really blowing it today. Aramis keeps getting on and Alou's not driving him in, in the 4th spot.

Zambrano is definitely fun to watch pitch, he really gets into it.

Zambrano is only good if he doesn't get too far behind in a game... if that's happens, he loses composre.... he's never going to be a top pitcher if he allows his emotions to dictate his pitches.

Other than that he's very very good. I love watching him pitch too.
