That's why I can never say anything bad about Sammy. He's laying himself out for the team right now. There's no ego or stat based thought in his mind. He's playing as good as he can for the team

As hard as it is to say, and as little faith I have in Tanyon, Torre should have put him in to start the 7th. He pitched El Duque way too long. I can understand pitching a guy when he's on, but Duque was far from being on.

Remlinger to close, interesting.. I'd prefer Dempster to close and Mercker for those tough 7th and 8th innings but Remlinger is much better than Hawkins in these situations

It's not often when you can say the Yankees lose because of bad coaching. At the risk of sounding like a broken record...there was just no need to leave El Duque in there.

Looks like it goes to 3 1/2 as Baltimore's awesome pitching staff is back at work.

lol, man, Giants/Astros games are fun after a cubs game. Who's gonna lose ground this time? Almost as fun is a good ole dodger/padres game. Anyway, an Astros win would be cool today. Just to see the Cubs back in front again though they've never fallen behind in the loss column

Wow. That was one of the most gut wrenching 1-0 games I have ever watched. Sosa comes through with what could possibly be the defensive play of the year for this team! When I saw that ball go off the bat I was pissed 'cause I thought that was gonna be a bases loaded clearing double. And then here comes Sosa zooming in and lays out for a fantastic catch! Early game tommorrow (12:30Eastern/11:30 Central) for the Cubs/Pirates and it is on ESPN. Lets get the sweep! As far as the Stros/Giants go, I hope the teams split the next two games.

BTW don't look now but not only is the NL West race heating up, but so is the AL West race. Texas is back in the action.

Torre still could have pulled Duque after he gave up the two hits to lead off the 7th. I really don't understand why he was left in there.

Holy shit, the Sox game JUST ended? I thought Boston had it won in the bottom of the 9th with Roberts at third and 1 out.

Dodgers losing again. Cubs and Giants have a great chance of both getting in. Dodgers look like they're in free fall. It'd be a shame to see this team in the playoffs they way they're playing. Wasting a team like the Stros, Cubs, or Giants who have all been very competitive and playing great ball.

The Giants are Astros Kryptonite. Ever since Bonds got his 71st homerun against us, its been hellish to play them.

Well that didnt go well, Dodgers are pretty much fucked from here on out. Fucking bunch of choking bastards!!! All of a sudden we cant get at the least 5 fucking innings from a starting pitcher, SHEESH! This is fucking ridiculous, every god damn year when September comes around so does the usual chokefest.
