I think Shailene has confirmed she's out.

They'll never be able to replace Emma but Black Cat flirtation with Felicity Jones in ASM3 and Jane Levy as MJ in ASM4 is a solid plan.

After she was cast out of 2 anything could happen. Maybe they didn't like her while she was there, who knows?

Oh okay, I thought they said they just cut her out not to distract from the impact of GS death. Whatever, I for one think that Woodley would be fine but I don't care that much.

Saw this last night and much to my surprise, I really liked it. It felt like there was so much cheese, but it was the right kind of cheese. Foreshadowings were also great with easter eggs like Doc Ock's tentacles and - at least I think they were - Vulture's wings in the background.

Also the Electro vs Spidey fight in the power grid where they were fighting to the beat was the stupidest thing I've ever seen but it just felt so great. Felt like clapping at that moment.

I also really liked the details they put into Spidey when he was swinging around, little stuff like making him climb up the web to keep himself up in the air just made it feel more believable. And the suit was aces.

Rethinking it the day after now I did like it more than I thought.

I liked the first movie, even though it felt somewhat massacred by studio cuts.
The trailers didn't do much for me, I was not expecting more than just cool action.
Im surprised to say that I really enjoyed the movie!
Life long fan of the character, makes me happy to have a more in line interpretation of it(What? is not perfect? well there are 50 or so years to choose from, I get this as another one of them). STILL there are small problems with it, but the thing I did not like at all was how over the top and cartoony Max Dillon was before becoming Electro..(when he does become Electro, his suit has a small lightning symbol, which was kinda dumb too, still it´s just a quib on aesthetic)
I watched this in GLORIOUS IMAX 3D, unbelievable fx detail, powerful sound, great action scenes, best ones ever depicting this character.
There is emotion in it, in spite of all the mechanics they need to put in place, I give this to the actors, they come through as a real couple and people in a fantasy situation.
I will watch this again, I would invite everyone to do so in the biggest and baddest screen available, the digital projection looked super crisp, im in love of those technical feats, sadly I cannot own an IMAX at home! haha.
Giving it an 8.5, wow, maybe i´ll adjust it after repeated viewings, but that is the feeling I´ve got after coming out of the theatre and sleeping on it, and it is wonderful, that is the only thing that matters, not all the negativity before it opened, and not what the marketing produced to me before watching it. I felt happiness seeing Spidey come to life in front of me in wonderful 3D, my eyes were amazed and I smiled several times!)

ps: some of it's more ¨cartoony¨ parts felt as a comic book coming alive, I understand why they are there, still, as ¨true¨ as the main cast performances are, those other parts stick out from the balance of the movie, nothing I would call terrible though.

Sorry if my english sucked!

Ehh.. Loved the first movie and didn't really care for this one. It was messy, all over the place and what was really the plot? Only thing they did right was Electro and character development for that was just excellent. Loved it.

First screening of this movie in my city, Finland:

i thought the opposite, the first movie was garbage and this was much better.
the antagonists had better motivations than just being evil and wanting to conquer the world.

the only thing that bothered me really was how Electro got his suit? :D Remember kids, Electric Eel powers enable you to conjure magical underwear and eventually a full costume!

Music was great too!

Glad to hear the music is good. I didn't hate the score from the first one but some parts felt really odd. The basketball scene sticks out to me

I wonder if the next films going to begin right where this one finishes. It would be annoying just to skip the rhino fight.

I don't think so. They might mention it but Rhino will remain a joke character.

Will be interesting to see if they can do that Sinister Six standalone movie too and who will be in the group in this movieverse. Ultimate Spiderman's group sounds pretty good with Sandman, Doctor Octopus, Kraven the Hunter, Electro and Green Goblin- They might replace Electro with Vulture as Electro might be dead for good and i would love to see Mysterio instead of Kraven :D

Mysterio deserves a better film debut than the sinister six. A character born for the big screen should get top villain billing.

I can totally see them resurrecting Electro somehow. Something like a tiny charge of him was still inside that battery meter thing that was stuck to his head, but they needed time to recharge him.

I was in the first screening here a week and a bit ago and it was packed. First time I've ever stood in a line to go see a movie.

I'll add to my previous impressions that I would have liked it better if Gwen really was killed by Peter, but it's fine this way too.
I really, really liked the last ~two minutes or whatever with Harry coming over and looking really psychotic and then the whole fight. I was on the edge of my seat (not being entirely sure if they're really going to kill off Gwen probably helped).

I was really impressed by Dane DeHaan. Great actor.

Yeah, I liked him in this, even though him and the other villains lacked a sufficient amount of screentime. Rhino lacking screentime isn't much of a problem though.

I really liked the Goblin laugh in this, albeit it was one scene, his entrance was creepy.

Goblin was probably my favourite thing in this film, which was surprising to me considering when they revealed that Harry was going to be GG in the very movie hes introduced I thought it would seem rushed. But I just loved him in this. His look, his laugh, voice. Fucking loved his entrance.

The emotional core of Peter and Gwen and Gwen's death were definitely the best parts of ASM2. I knew that Gwen died in the comics, but I didn't know if she'd die in this one. It was ballsy that they killed her here, and it was well done. I was shocked.

Electro was sort of okay as a villain, better than the Lizard, but not as good as the Raimi villains. The final fight was a bit of a letdown - destruction pr0n is a bit trite but I kind of was expecting it at the end for the big fight. However it was just mostly contained in the power plant.

They're playing up Rhino as a joke character. That's fine.

I think ASM3 has a great foundation. The Six will basically just be heavies for Spidey to beat. But the Green Goblin should be a great villain, with what he does and what this movie set up.

I like ASM2 about as much as SM2, and that's a big deal for me.

thought they would have curt Connors appear as a cameo or something in this film

also poor Max Dillon

I think Harry mentions Conners, and that's about it lol. A little weird but whatever.

I don't think this is the last we'll see of Electro. Aside from his really cheesy lines, I wasn't that appalled by him to my surprise. I wish they spent more time developing what they were going for though.

I really liked him too. Wish his transformation didn't feel so rushed though, it would've been far better if they never featured Goblin in any of the promotions too. But yeah I like when he appeared. Poor Spidey can never catch a break.

I also thought he was great for the same reasons as you. He was legit creepy.

I basically share these exact sentiments. ASM2 might be my favorite Spider-Man movie after the original Spidey 2. I even loved the Electro dub step themes despite not caring for dub step in general.

I also didn't care for ASM very much. There were parts I liked, but overall it was the most forgettable Spider-Man movie to date. Maybe one of the reasons I enjoyed ASM2 so much was that my expectations were so low.

I picked up The Spectacular Spider-Man complete series with promotional ASM2 ticket to get amped. First time watching it, really enjoying it so far.

ASM was decent, but I was disappointed leaving the theatre. I'm all for well done romance and I like Garfield as Parker, so it seems I'll like this one more!

I don't like the film wars that go on here. But I feel that Garfield makes Spider-Man his own in this movie, it was truly the best part of the film alongside the Gwen stuff.

I think Dehaan was great as well, even if they didn't give him as much screentime as they should've. My Spectacular Spidey Blu-Ray set is on the way :-).

Better than the first movie. Electro was a good villain although he never received more character development after becoming bad. Poor guy just exploded at the end, forgotten by even the audience as the Gwen scene played out.

Gwen scene was good, expected ever since I found out the Green Goblin was in this film, but still good. Though a bit of a shame they made it seem more like she died because she smacked her head on the ground, rather than her breaking her neck because of Peter's bad webbing technique. The latter is more tragic which is better IMO.

Andrew Garfield played his part sufficiently assholely enough, good on him, he's well cast.

Also the two planes in danger of colliding is one of the worst, forced, time limit tension scenes I've seen in a while.

The X-Men scene in the middle of the credits was very unusual. Everyone in the theatre thought it meant there would be a Spider-Man/X-Men crossover.

Just saw the movie. Overall pretty disappointed. The pacing, music, character development are all over the place. Felt super scatter brained. The redeeming factor was the Climax and Gwen's death, and the scenes after that, but otherwise it was the worst Spider-Man movie other than Spider-Man 3. If only we could take Spider-man's wit and Garfield/Stone and put them into the first 2 Raimi movies. Then we'd have the quintessential spider-man movie.

My rankings:

Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man
Amazing Spider-Man
Amazing Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man 3

Just came back from it and I didn't like it that much. It was just really inconsistent with a lot of stupid stuff. I liked some part like Spider-Man being Spidey and doing big things like taking down crooks and small thing like following that kid home. They really nailed his character and Garfield is a great Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

But a lot of it just felt stupid. The kid in the end, the plane scene (why wasn't that cut?), the hospital that for some reason didn't have a backup generator and so on. And when I realized that they weren't gonna give us a Rhino fight I sighed a bit. Also the graduation scene with them talking about wishing Ben was they did in the first Spider-Man, although I guess it ultimately doesn't matter. And trying to convince us that Andrew is 18 or something is just ridiculous.

And what was up with that X-Men scene in the end?

All in all it was meh, inconsistent in tone but had some good scenes and some bad ones. I think my favorite part of the movie was the beginning when they show of his day to day heroics.

EDIT: Also, they're 18 (or something, I don't know how old you are when you finish high school), so all the "love of my life" kind of things are so weird.
