"The Ass Nintendo Doesn't Want You To See" (Kotaku)

Do I want to know?

Probably not.

I stumbled upon it by accident on Youtube. It's not the kind of fanservice I like, and much better situations could've been chosen for a bonus scene, but in the grand scheme of things it's pretty tame. Could've been worse- coulda' had worms! I saw it as more of a waste. Not the scene itself, but that they decided it was the scene to add.

From that new angle it looks like someone is watching her undress. Yeah, I don't think NOA thought this one through. Where' Bill Trinen when you need him?

Knew I picked the best waifu. Tharja is still a close second.

Cordelia was my pick too. Other than which pair would make a good couple physically, I actually went into marriage based on the flow of the conversations and personalities. Tharja's behavior was way too obsessive, but Cordelia struck me as pure wifey material. I usually shy away from the former type in real life. Other than that, Tharja's pretty charming in her own unique way, and really grew on me. A close second, indeed.

Oh, and yes, the stupid censoring made the pic 10X worse, IMO. One may actually think they are hiding a naked body, which has much worse implications. All this in one of the most sex-driven countries on earth, no less... the irony!

I haven't picked a waifu yet, my top 3 though are Tharja, Cordelia and "main" girl. Might get some other supports to S to see how they flow before deciding.

Only censored in the US I'm betting?

PAL land hasn't got this DLC yet, I'm not expecting any different tbh, they did after all censor out talk about Tharja's "bounce".

I'm actually happy Nintendo went this route.
As I posted in the main thread, FE has never been home to creepy fanservice and neither should it be. Anime fans have a huge array of other otaku games they can play to see some anime ass, and even more websites to visit. I don't need this shit ruining classic series, and it's why I hate anime fans in general.
Honestly, I'm actually laughing at the guys so mad they didn't get to see a drawn ass. Pathetic.

good to hear, I want to buy the game but don't really like dlc. is the main game meaty enough to be satisfied?
Absolutely. Theres a tonne of maps to go through, enemies reappear on maps, youll fight people you street pass with, and theres additional maps that are on the card that unlock once you activate spotpass.

I should really buy this game. But giving the PAL version seems pretty heavily censored in the texts that idea bother me already :/

Nintendo makes changes in localized versions of the games they publish. It's not like they've been doing exactly that for decades. What an outrage.

Next time, try to look into Nintendo policy and ESRB requirements, that's why they make those modifications.

I don't know why they censored it since this same pic is all over the internet. I saw it here on NeoGAF well before the DLC was even released. Can't even understand what they were trying to accomplish, considering what they have Zero Suit Samus wearing these days.

gotta protect those the kids who bought a T-rated game dude

Preach brotha

I don't see the point of this censorship.
I'm not even surprised by nintendo however.

I'm against censorship of any kind but in this case i'm even more against it since it does nothing

What happened to Fire Emblem while I was away?

Summer scramble pack?

yeah..my same problem

i didn't like the dialogue in the demo too..seems a lot more childish and cheesy than the previous installment...but maybe is just a problem of the first "mission" presented in the demo.

No bikinis in the American version, instead you can cut all their limbs off and watch the blood spray kind of like fruit ninja.

Land of the free....

What is wrong with Kotaku? These guys need help over there can't we ban that site already it rarely has anything positive to contribute to the gaming community. The censor is a joke granted but where they have been the past few weeks they should have avoided this story.

DLC is all fanservice, the rest of the game isn't like this.

Here's my take on it, from the character depth thing going on a page back or two:
They went more for the entertainment than depth. Yeah, Lethe is a deeper and more "interesting" character than Panne, but I can't recall too many Fire Emblem games where I've found myself just laughing out loud. Yeah, it makes the characters slightly less believable, but to a degree I do actually really say this is 100% worse. FE10 proved that, as far as IS is concerned, Supports are as much just bonus material for the sake of the mechanics as they are anything, and I'll take hilarious one-note supports over FE10's complete barren, "Hey, don't die!" "Okay!" supports.

Personally I'm really, really glad these came over, since now I can get an unlimited supply of Seeds of Trust. For those of you going for supports, there isn't a better way than this.

They just made it worse, as usual.

BTW, I don't know if I love or hate that character. Some days I use her so she levels up, sometimes I click her off the first. Same as with her silly friend Ricken, but you have to get at least one mage, I guess...

Kotaku's plan is to force Nintendo to uncensor the image via patch, and then write a follow-up article about the overtly sexualized female cast of Fire Emblem.

So my last Fire Emblem was the Gamecube and Game Boy Advance ones, so my first reaction to this is..... WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED. Still might pick it up sooner or later though.

Haha my thought's exactly. I don't remember Fire Emblem being well, sexy. . . haha.

I really need to pick up Awakening.

While that's funny, that's absolutely not how the USK works. From an USK Standpoint a picture like the one in question could probably be in an USK 6 game.

For example a game like the witcher 2 which had a pretty explicit sex scene was usk 16 in Germany while being 18 or the equivalent in pretty much all other countries.

I'm pretty sure the decision to censor the dialogue in FE:A in Europe was a Nintendo and not the rating boards decision.
