Its all about getting them lucky runs and trying to stack powerful items, its like diablo meets zelda dungeon crawling in a way... plus the rogue-like stuff.

Every match is different, every item you pickup can change the game considerably and every level is randomised. I've put in over 1300 hours and the game is different every time. You could pickup something useless like a rock in the head that makes tears circle around you, making the game incredibly difficult but later convert your tears into laser beams making you extremely OP.

Replayability is unlimited.

Best rogue like ever made, the amount of content is staggering and the expansions make it even better. This is a great addition too. There's a local co-op mode that's been in the game for awhile but it's a bit lackluster as the second player does not play as a real character like player 1 does. Will definitely try this with some friends.

Ahh so a rogue or roguelite? Is there an endgame final boss?

Repentance fixed that.
You can now play with two characters and you get double the boss items, which one player can take both if they want.

You start from scratch each time, but you can (and will because there is almost a thousand of them) unlock items as you play which become usable in subsequent rounds.

The game has different pathways with multiple end-game bosses depending on the route you take.
