I tried to do that more than once. I initially burned all my CDs to mp3 but was stupidly unaware how important those tags were. About 12 years ago. I had a program to get them all off of CDs and automatically tag them. I deleted them all.
I didn't like the tags and wanted to name the files myself. 2000 files. I'm still depressed how short sighted I was.

I hate tagging music. It's so tedious and none of the fucking programs on the market can do it with any kind of consistency.

Nope. I've deleted all the music from my phone to re-tag it and put it back on more than once.
Doing this for Windows Media Player, however, is a biiiiiiiiiiitch.
Mp3tag is what I use constantly, works pretty well.

Thank the Heavens for Mediamonkey. I refuse to let "(DatPiff Exclusive)" be anywhere within a 2 mile radius of my music library.
I also hate that there is no "featured artist" tag under MP3 metadata. You would think someone would have deemed such important after, say, 1979.
