Why does racism only count when it's intentional? And how do we even prove it's intentional?
I can understand people being ignorant of something - that in and of itself is no sin - but people throw "unintentional racism" around as a way of deflecting the criticism as opposed to illustrating why people might need more education or what have you.

It's from people too insecure about their lack of self-restraint to improve themselves. "I mean duh, you can't always pretend you think black people are on the same level as us. People slip up sometimes, it's not their fault. Just imagine trying not to think about saying the N-word or remembering that it's all institutionalized on top of juggling every other stimulant in a conversation. Especially if it's a conversation with someone distracting, like a black friend. I mean sure, he's only 5'8", knows more about comics than I do about pornstars and the most violent thing he's done is gotten a 0-49% kill combo with Ganondorf in Brawl, but what if he turned all of a sudden, y'know? Higher-class people (which are statistically proven to be mostly white, and for good reason) really have a lot more on their plate than you'd expect. It's a struggle just getting out of bed some days."
I don't think there's any way that people are as clueless about what is or isn't racist as they pretend to be on here. Sure, there's some questionable stuff that's understandable to overlook but that Terra Formars thread (and many race-related threads on here) is a bunch of people acting as obtuse and naive as possible to excuse some very obvious racism.

I just don't get it. Is it always this bad? I mean for BHM. People have to be clinically insane to think that this is acceptable, but then again a hive mind can accomplish a lot.

It doesn't matter. Most companies want to see a sample of your work before they hire someone. If they ask for it, provide it.

Comedy sometimes skirts that line between what's ok and what isn't. Some jokes work, others don't. Like Michael Richardson. Most comedian really focus on if the Jokes work rather than if they're morally correct or not. Which is why they come to the defense of each other. Humor is a fickle thing.
