I think it's funny how Bernie supporters refuse to acknowledge his votes on the the crime Bills in 94. Words are words, but actions speak loudest.

I'm starting to feel as if any presidential canidate is a poor choice. I want Bernie to win since he is the lesser of so many evils, but when all his hardcore supporters come out I want him to fail terribly. Is this bad of me?

double jump

you haven't lived until a random little kid ask you "how do you make love".
I'm still undecided at this point. I'll say this though, if Trump wins this country deserves every negative aspect that comes our way.

I actually like Bernie, but those votes are problematic. Those same supporters toss at Hillary the pipeline to prison that her husband signed into law, ignoring that Bernie voted for the same shit. He has real flaws that can't be waved away by the fact that he marched with King. He's listening though, something his hardcore supporters are refusing to do.

I don't like Bernie Sanders and I'm proud to say it.

I thank BLM for showing us how simultaneously hard-headed and weak he is. If he were ever elected president he'd probably spend most of the time walking out of rooms than getting shit done.

I was in poligaf and someone brought that up with the news clip, showing the senators voting for it.

'...And one independent senator...'

That was a pretty nice Bern.

It doesn't seem like we have any good candidates that willing to fight for minorities. We got racist ass Trump who I think might win this shit and we got soft as baby shit Bernie. Is Deez Nutz our last hope?

I think Bernie is fine and actually seems to at least try and understand the situation that's happening and show empathy to black voters. Standers are dumb as fuck but that doesn't change my opinion on the man.

I'm a non-US citizen so this is all a moot point anyway. Hilary is going to win and discussion about institutionalized racism is going to be set back by years because your dumb-ass political system doesn't allow for any alternatives.

lol how are you undecided? I'm going with #not trump for president.

I don't particularly like hillary or bernie, and I don't trust platforms for shit, they disapparate as soon as the election is over. I'm just watching to see if by some chance of circumstance the Democratic party pulls their heads out of their asses, then maybe they'll be worthy of support.

Oh they'll probably get my vote, but you know the deal. Work against the republicans, work around the democrats, try to make the world a better place. If it's not already on the starbucks list of liberal causes, don't expect it to happen without a hell of a fight. They'll save a dead lion before they save a living black man.

Really? Then why does he still, after all the shit that's gone down, pivot immediately to economic issues when asked directly about racism?

He ain't learned shit.

well there are a list of reasons.

either he's avoiding it because he doesn't care

he's avoiding it because he cares a lot and wants to sneak it under the radar

he thinks that he can fix it, once and for all, by dealing with class warfare. He thinks thats the souce of the flood, and will save the most drowning people.

others?

Really? I'm looking at his website and he doesn't even mention economic policy until a load of paragraphs in.

Here's how it opens.

Physical Violence

Perpetrated by the State

Sandra Bland, Michael Brown, Rekia Boyd, Eric Garner, Walter Scott, Freddie Gray, Tamir Rice, Samuel DuBose. We know their names. Each of them died unarmed at the hands of police officers or in police custody. The chants are growing louder. People are angry and they have a right to be angry. We should not fool ourselves into thinking that this violence only affects those whose names have appeared on TV or in the newspaper. African Americans are twice as likely to be arrested and almost four times as likely to experience the use of force during encounters with the police.

Perpetrated by Extremists

We are far from eradicating racism in this country. In June, nine of our fellow Americans were murdered while praying in a historic church because of the color of their skin. This violence fills us with outrage, disgust, and a deep, deep sadness. Today in America, if you are black, you can be killed for getting a pack of Skittles during a basketball game. These hateful acts of violence amount to acts of terror. They are perpetrated by extremists who want to intimidate and terrorize black and brown people in this country.

Addressing Physical Violence

It is an outrage that in these early years of the 21st century we are seeing intolerable acts of violence being perpetuated by police, and racist terrorism by white supremacists.

A growing number of communities do not trust the police and law enforcement officers have become disconnected from the communities they are sworn to protect. Violence and brutality of any kind, particularly at the hands of the police sworn to protect and serve our communities, is unacceptable and must not be tolerated. We need a societal transformation to make it clear that black lives matter, and racism cannot be accepted in a civilized country.

  • We must demilitarize our police forces so they don’t look and act like invading armies.
  • We must invest in community policing. Only when we get officers into the communities, working within neighborhoods before trouble arises, do we develop the relationships necessary to make our communities safer together. Among other things, that means increasing civilian oversight of police departments.
  • We need police forces that reflect the diversity of our communities.
  • At the federal level we need to establish a new model police training program that reorients the way we do law enforcement in this country. With input from a broad segment of the community including activists and leaders from organizations like Black Lives Matter we will reinvent how we police America.
  • We need to federally fund and require body cameras for law enforcement officers to make it easier to hold them accountable.
  • Our Justice Department must aggressively investigate and prosecute police officers who break the law and hold them accountable for their actions.
  • We need to require police departments and states to provide public reports on all police shootings and deaths that take place while in police custody.
  • We need new rules on the allowable use of force. Police officers need to be trained to de-escalate confrontations and to humanely interact with people who have mental illnesses.
  • States and localities that make progress in this area should get more federal justice grant money. Those that do not should get their funding slashed.
  • We need to make sure the federal resources are there to crack down on the illegal activities of hate groups.

side note but looking at how many posts the campaign zero thread got in comparison to the other BLM related threads is really telling. The posts that thread did get came from people who were confused on the nature of Broken Windows Policing.

and after the thread was posted folks still posted in the other threads asking what BLM was about.

Quite telling, really.

Did Bernie say something stupid that I'm not aware of? Or does none of this count because it's on a website? I'm a bit out of the loop so apologies if I've missed something.

the goal posts are doing a ninja sprint. we used to be satisfied with websites, but we're not anymore.

and yeah he disavowed an apology to BLM, kinda stupid imo. "that apology came from my campaign, not me" really bernie? is now the time to be a principled old man? over this?

Are y'all really surprised that negative threads or ones that feed into dominant narratives/trends get more attention than threads that try to be more informative, positive or cover smaller topics within larger trends?

Or just depressed?

Yeah I mentioned that a while back. Not a good look for him IMO.

I guess depressed? In any case it just proves where people priorities were. It was always about "how could they do this to MY candidate?"

they don't get that people are disillusioned with the process. Obama didn't change that, the surrounding consequences actually got worse. People really see government as broken, they see the President as just another player in the game, and they see the Democrats simultaneously easing away from Obama, black issues, and everything else, moving on with their plan for the new century. It very much has a feel of "this is the train, get on or get left behind". I wouldn't want to support that, really. Couldn't trust in it, for sure.

democrats have a serious problem. Republicans have their own problems, luckily, but they notice.

I mean, I still like Sanders, but Clinton's pragmatism has mostly won me over versus his socialist ideals.
It may have been on the College loans issue.
If Sanders were in his 40s and more assertive, I would probably still support him. He doesn't even need to be young to assert himself, just look at his counterpart Trump.
Not to mention as soon as he would win the nomination, he would need to be strong enough to combat the socialist/communist slander thrown at him as well as the usual nonsense, which I don't believe he would be.

Not old enough to vote in primaries so the fate of the candidate is out of my hands. Vote for Trump BCT.

Just got discharged. On my way home. Kind of high from the anesthesia. But going to sleep at the crib and watch a lot of curb your enthusiasm this week. Appreciate the well wishes. That hospital was balling. In by 1030 am, finished and recovered by 6pm.

Cvs is dog shit. Just throwing that out there. Treating my wife like a junkie.

The gaming side's reaction is that these guys (including the 27 year old) are kids who were just joking around and people need to chill with their accusations that they could be considered terrorists, especially if they were able to carry out an attack.

Or, as they say, boys will be boys

For those guessing, here's a pic of the two 'kids':

Something told me to stay away from that thread. What people will justify when the perpetrators meet a certain criteria never ceases to amaze me

I only popped into that thread to say my quick bit but it seemed to me most people were calling this out for the fucked up shit it was. You probably read the thread more closely than me, its what you're saying actually the overall opinion (or if not the consensus something said by an non-insignificant number of people)?
