Other than short trailers i've avoided everything somehow. You wouldn't even understand a spoiler unless it is made clear because of how crazy the story is.Anything can be made up.

It's a no win situation that was to be expected. None of my black friends skate(doesn't mean they can't) or play hockey and i'm in Sweden with a hockey arena near me. They all play soccer but that might just be what they grew up with. Soccer is so huge it just eclipses everything. 2 soccer arenas in comparison 3 counting indoors.

Have you tried Gungrave? It's basically a mafia show with some sci-fi/horror elements. First episode is a mindtrip/flash forward and it goes full anime in the last arc but the build-up to all of that was fucking excellent and the pay off is strong too.
