The word has less and less meaning when the people who use it are typically white males whose waspy sensibilities have been offended. There are definitely people who are overly sanctimonious and overly zealous in their drive for equality. But I'd rather dismiss those people in other ways since the term is being conflated with doing good work. SJW is a loaded term, and the implications that come with its use to disparag people shouldn't go uncrecognized imo. Caping for social justice is not something that should be a reason to be derided so much as upholding institutions that keep people margenalized, like white supremacy.

Truth. Don't get me wrong; props to the kid for getting involved with activism at such a young age. But if you can't express your disagreement or concern with certain angles of Social Justice without resorting to dismissing those perspectives, don't be surprised when your ass gets shut out.
