It'd be part of the charm.
They don't have the designers or writers with the ability to do black people correctly.
But if they did, there would be salt. Oh yes. And the game would sell like shit.
Then Square, while digging their way out of another failure and financial hole would over compensate and never have another black character in their mainland produced games ever again.
Worse yet, it would give knuckleheads the fuel that they need to hate on and protest black characters from here until eternity.
Edit: I'd rather see the fallout from Kojima doing an all black cast and that audience showing their ass. The game would more likely not get sunk right out of the gate, I think.

So what would think the reaction would be if Square Enix made an All Black JRPG with it's own unique title and it was being celebrity endorsed by some famous black person that white people love like Snoop Dogg who's providing the voice for one of the characters? I think people would be more open to that idea and it would sell well if it's good, despite some people throwing online temper tantrums.
That's tough. The problems that i can see go beyond the usual "can't relate" attitude. I can see there being a creative conflict of how to cater to an audience that likes a very specific style in storytelling that they believe is a Japanese way of being. Even if it's very Japanese in story, design, and production, will it be Japanese 'enough' to not turn off the pre-packed audience immediately? It's like the problem that a lot of Americans have in recognizing that not all Europeans are white. Like the concept of a black British person is an anomaly.
I think it's the same thing with Japanese media products. Establishing black characters as if they aren't foreigners or interlopers, but actual natives to the lore and land is not something that people have been challenged with. Unless they are giant murderous subhuman bugmen. It would have to be loaded with all kinds of buffoonery and 'jokes' for most to accept it.
Not to say it couldn't be done. But it's as likely to succeed as Square is likely to hire an all black team to lead and produce it. Never gonna happen.
