I love how in time travel shows the black character magically gets to go places no nigga could've ever been in certain time periods and no one blinks an eye.

Is there even any good new shit? I vaguely remember last year some people going at Crunchyroll for not having shit

Ain't no one out here producing fictional lesbian shit except OitNB, Steven Universe and Lindsey Graham
Plenty
of manga that will never get adapted
or shows with a fuckton of subtext

Which TV shows? The only one I watched was Legends of Tomorrow and when the black guy went back to the 50s the whites in the town showed hostility. When he got pulled over by a cop with a bleeding white woman in the passenger seat, I said "It's a wrap for him".

They're going to touch on that in the show:

...but yeah, they can only do so much before it simply overtakes the show itself.

Timeless, which NBC is pushing real hard during the NFL games.

If I were to say (not re-interpreting your words, these are mine) that the experience is a bit hollow when approached for a second time, it kind of exposes itself a bit. It's got one note. It's a strong note, but one that doesn't offer much. I absolutely think that everyone should go through it once. But at the same time, try to articulate what they experienced and not just pass along good vibes without context. I think it fails miserably at opening up people to the dialogue that it's attempting to start.

Your closing is accurate. There are things they really did well. Like I said, the coop, and its collaborative effort when you're only able to communicate with a single key that has an arbitrary meaning the other's meant to interpret. Another is that it's relaxing? Better yet, contemplative. Had me out there in those snowy fields like:

Environmental story telling is tough, though. Like end of the day, I knew I had to get to the peak of the mountain. But what am I getting there for? "What's the purpose of this journey?" is something I asked myself a lot. Is this just some philosophical, what is the meaning of life tier stuff? Maybe something to do with being unable to do it alone, because at least in my case through near every puzzle I had a person doing it along with me? Keying you into how changes in your "environment," not necessarily the sort outside, affects you? i.e. the cloth tearing.

This is some coming of age, I have no idea what I'm life - navigating my years without a map type of thing, if so. Maybe that's the purpose, hell. I enjoyed it for what it was.

You've been seeing those commercials for Timeless, right? I remember thinking the exact same thing. Seeing that black dude casually riding around in a jeep in Nazi Germany...

In the very first trailer he said he didn't need to go on the mission because his ass would not survive. I know he gets arrested and called boy a lot eventually

In the comic the black lady gets sent back to the civil war. She reads a Confederate soldier the business thinking he was just a reneactor....it doesn't end well.

Agreed on all points.

That time a mofo let me in the blizzard on that mountain tho.

Hard lessons.

I hadn't thought about that in decades. Say what you want about John Byrne. He's like the only one who was consistent (hit or miss), with his mission to push it all forward and not bury the bullshit.

I'm gonna guess

Every time a new season or story for the MCU begins, I have to wait to see it. Every single time. Not this time. I have 24 hours to jam all of it in, and I'm gonna do it!

Situation in Civ V: Last time when I said I was starting my first ever game of Civ people told me I shouldn't have any more than five cities, and I'm finding reasons to settle a sixth.

My civilization (Songhai) started up around a big inland sea, sort of a Caspian Sea situation, around which three of my cities are centered. Another is kinda inland, and my fifth is facing out towards the ocean but in a kinda remote area where there aren't really any other civs. I want to settle another city ocean-side to have quicker access to what appears to be the world ocean. Another issue though is that the last time I settled a city around this region it pissed off Hiawatha (who borders me) and I told him I wouldn't settle any more around there. Military-wise, the game board says I've got the biggest military among 12 civs, something like 4x the next guy down, but most of that is naval units inside that inland sea (my advisers just told me to keep building them). I don't have a huge number of land units that can reach anything not bordering that sea. Just a few groups of archers, pikemen, and a group of swordsmen. Found a sixth city?

Other details: It's like the 1st century AD or something. Me and one other civ (unmet) entered the medieval era a while ago, everybody else is classical. I have like 3000 gold but don't know what to do with it. Should I just buy off all the city states? None of them like each other. Arabia and Hiawatha are at war with Suleiman. Everybody asked me to get involved but I said no. Don't know how to wage war in this game and again, ain't got that many land units.

Man...after watching the latest video for Watch Dogs 2 on Giant Bomb, I'm actually looking forward to it. Looks like goofy fun. I'm still cautious 'cause it's Ubisoft, but still. Got it on pre-order since Amazon discounted it to $50 CAD during their E3 pre-order sale. Might not cancel it after all.

Screw them city states ain't worth the trouble for the reward, you got a military and money attack someone not to wipe em put but to force peace and get free shit. Having a lot of cities is find when you got airports and can just make some farms for relocation

He's obviously seen a a white man just like the woman who could only go slighter further back than him

Extremely attractive girl decides she wants to come back into my life.

*plays entire Drake boxset*

Quit looking for a soundtrack to your existence and just go out with the girl.

Stop name droppin' yo mama while you're at it. Most girls aren't into that.

I only talk about my mother in this thread, I don't even have a love life for all she knows tbh and I intend to keep it that way.

And we are gonna go out this coming weekend :D

Not going to dig into that unless you want to go there, but hell yeah on that date. That should be your opener from now on.

Nas slander...I cannot condone such heresy.

You will not be the BBQ DJ. You'll be bringing the store brand fruit punch and soda

Man...don't slander Shasta brand Tiki Punch, nor Safeway Select brand Fruit Punch soda. Shit, while we're at it, leave Mountain Mist alone too
