It is interesting, but I don't see myself ever getting anything as all over the place as that. Would be Somali, maybe some Arab, at wildest a mesh of other East African countries. You'd be surprised. Both of my parents are black and so are all of my 1st and 2nd generation relatives and I'm the same shade as my Black Jesus avatar, but after doing my DNA test I found out I have ancestry all over the place. Even Kunta Kinte himself found some surprises on his DNA test.

I think the reason I expect so little of it, while knowing full well I could be proven wrong, is because there's been little indication of any different, at least through names, across generations. My parents are big on roots, which is easy considering our direct family line hasn't really stayed anywhere outside of Somalia/Kenya, and even that is a more recent deal of the last 2 generations being born outside of Somalia.

The day I decide to do it, I'll definitely share here the full results. Y'all got me wondering now. Gonna have to find out. I have a quarterly gov. tax-based cheque coming in this month, so I can use it to take the brunt of the cost of the test. Takes forever to receive results, though, seems. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Feenix's choice is 6-8 weeks after they get my stuff back. Did you also use ancestry.com, or did you go for 23andme to get the whole story kinda?

Yeah I think I will not get Mafia 3 instead preorder Battlefield 1. BF1 has bugs I can handle since its multiplayer and not story driven. Dont know how the campaign will be since I never did beat BF3's story.

I usually just get buzz cuts so I can cut it again in like 3 months when it gets long and wavy. I do that so I have enough hair to decide if I want to get another buzz cut or something different like a fade.

Once a week? I just don't have the DNA for that. I go three weeks and only start paying attention when it looks a mess. I give no fucks, never have.

I just figure in missing a gene or something.

After thinking I was getting hard tumors on the back of my neck, and being "diagnosed" with acne keloiditis - all even all around. Can't get a fade anymore because the back of my neck will look like Chunk from the goonies.

Lol. I'm a recent convert to the Arab barber. These cats will do the cut, your beard, hit you with the hot wax and do a facial scrub for a hot 20.

Yeah I did AncestryDNA using a Groupon discount for 20% off. It took about the same amount of time since they send you the kit in the mail, you send the DNA sample and then they give you the results online, but it was definitely worth it IMO.

Been wanting to do mine after I finish university. I'm expecting mine to be all over the place. I know my mom's side of the family is overwhelmingly British, and there's probably some other European in there. My dad's side though? No fucking idea. Black Canadian from Nova Scotia, and I don't even know how our family got there. They're all light skin, so I'm expecting a bit of European on that side too.

I got looser curls and I've been rocking them long as of late, with the sides (minus the back) faded down. Been thinking of getting in touch with my roots and getting my hair braided, but I'm self-conscious that people are gonna perceive me as being a white dude with braids.

I should just do it
