I got a shitload of Sake from friends over there that got sent to me on holidays.
Legit like eight bottles.
Sake is disgusting (okay, sure, not all. lots of variety but only one variety I like and it's expensive AF...)
and tbh, I've only ever seen Koreans enjoy it haha (in person, at restaurants)

I will have to try that. Around here, I've had sochu at the korean bbq, but that stuff is weak as water and a waste of money.
Shochu has many different varieties and can taste VERY different. Not like, wine different, but straight up like a different drink.
I can't remember which one I liked (as a sipping drink), I think it was a Sweet Potato one, but it's mostly used for stuff like Grapefruit Sour etc.
I can drink Umeshu over and over.
In fact, I've done that twice.
The best part is when you get unlimited alcohol at Karaoke and you just drink Umeshu until you're full. mmmm
(make sure it's the green asian plum and not the super sweet one that Kikkoman bottles)

The price of that Whisky, even IN Japan, is part of why I can say I simply don't like Japanese Whisky.
But regardless, if y'all think you don't love Whisky but haven't tried Highland Park 12y, try it.

Yeah the 18. It isn't that expensive but falls right in line with the rest of that age. The 12 year old is also good and if you haven't become stuck up its more than good. Only one I can't stomach is the Togouchi. Pretty sure it was a failed batch but that aftertaste actually offends me.
You can get some really good Scotch for that price tho. Then again, I'm probably biased towards Scotch.
Only Whisky I legit hate is JD. I especially hate how it's popular for mixing. That's probably an irrational dislike tho... but I swear, I used to go out drinking with Mongolians after work and it would be the only Whisky available. ;( Rather drink rum on its own haha

I imagine South Korea has Japan beat, but Japan uses drinking as a requirement to socialise haha. You get really good deals and prices for regular stuff.

Try drinking flor de Caña. Been drinking that rum clean for years....I'm very biased towards it though. Same with Tres Toños, tequila you can drink clean and whatever the one with dual gusanos mezcal. Another good part is that they are rather cheap as well.
Immediately put that suggestion in my OneDrive. There's a possibility of me visiting Mexico for a wedding in October so I'll check it out then.
I recently tried a Tequilla called... uh I think I had Patron in its name (checks google) yeah Patron Silver. I can't handle spirits (baring Whisky ofc) but I love Tequilla, too much to tell the difference between brands haha

Well, most drunk I have ever been must have been when I was 14/15 and watched The Woman in Black (play). A friend from school gave me a bottle of Whisky (my first ever) between acts. Wasn't a smart thing to do, haha.
I can't imagine getting fucked up then coming in and doing 14 hours the next day
