I had to look up "BBC" by the way, because I couldn't figure out what the British Broadcasting Company had to do with this. Fabulous acronym.

My guess is that precisely the racist stereotypes which have kept black people under heel for so long -- aggressive, highly sexual, animalistic -- are also exactly the sort of things which many women might find appealing for sexual gratification. Put differently, at least in this specific regard, the racist stereotypes backfire on white men.

This does raise the question of whether it's advisable to perpetuate these stereotypes as black men, though. It has obvious short term, personal benefit (i.e. you may get laid), but the possible downsides seem much more long term and significant.

Opiate, you bring up an awesome point that I think about myself. The attraction does seem to be a very primal thing rooted in wanting a very animalistic and taboo experience. "Oh my God I'm fucking a black guy, what would my father think of this, I'm so dirty". When I see this line of thinking, It makes me less inclined to date a girl who fetishizes me rather than someone who genuinely sees me for me. Sure in the short term I get to indulge someon in their fantasy all the while 'getting mine', in the long run it's probably no good.


I'm reminded of that video posted in here some months back about swinger culture, cuckolds looking for black men. Some were even card carrying klan members. This just illustrates that there is a disconnect between sex and politics/outlook on life.

Dat lizard brain.
