I've never used the word in a racist way(it's not even in my vocab), its funny that the etymology makes it counter intuitive to being disparaging. It's a stupid word that serves no purpose, it doesn't cut deep and really it's comical at best.

For real though, I wonder what the origin of cracker (as an insult) is. Wikipedia doesn't make it entirely clear (aside from it possibly stemming from poor whites eating a lot of... cracked corn).
