Kick Ass 2 must be doing horribly. Went to check the showtimes to see if I could catch the matinee and its only showing 1-3 showings at all the theaters near me at like 8pm or 10pm.

WTF it just came out Friday and I live in the NYC metro area I've never seen this happen with a movie on opening week (3rd day).

Not sure here. I'm about 6ft1 with shoes and I feel short here. Japanese guys are taller than a lot of people believe.

The movie is still better than the comics its based off of. Jeez those comics got bad.

True, but that comic did get really bad. I know that comic at its core was supposed to be " hey maybe all that comic book stuff really wouldn't work in real life". But for you to pull that off , you need to like human beings, human beings that like comic books and buy them, Human beings who make comic books, and the comic books and industry those human beings have made. Miller doesn't seem to be a fan of any of those things, so instead of a less pretentious watchmen ( do not get me started on that) it became this bitter comic book made by a guy who may not even like where he works anymore. Constantly taking his bitterness out on the characters in poorly written contextless ways, that include blatant racism and misogyny, rape and other things.

I have a friend who has some sort of complex. He thinks that all mixed people (half black half white) look good only because they look Hispanic or anything but black, which I think is bullshit, although there are attractive Hispanics girls out there, duh. But I tell him there's differences that can be found. As you can tell he's not very attracted to black women, unless they are ungodly hot, still though he never gives black people credit for produce some hotties.

He's Hispanic.

I'm surprised that MS is still trying to even fight for Japan is like a tier 3 country for them, moneyhatting platinum game title for japan is just weird.

It depends on the studios being money hatted. There are some developers, like Platinum, Capcom, etc. that are capable of making games that potentially have appeal within both the West and Japan. Basically trying to hit two birds with one stone. If this were something like an RPG, I'd agree, but an action game? That's not exactly purely Japan centric.

It depends. Something like Bayonetta is Japanese centric in its sensibilities and presentation, but has the potential for acceptance within the West. But then again, it could be something like the Wonderful 101, which has absolutely no chance at doing well within the West.
