Not really digging Transistor so far, although I suppose it's still early. The narration in particular feels kind of forced.

It gets better when the abilities open up later in the game. It's kinda boring at the start since you only have like 2/3 abilities and sorta have to play hit and run style with the turn based shit.

but once it starts letting you customize it gets pretty fun

It's pretty much Bastion 2 presentation wise though so how much you enjoy all that is dependent on how much you enjoyed Bastion I guess.(I though Bastion was eh. I feel the same here)

I think the point of view of the narration is the biggest difference between the two. The narration in Transistor feels really forced from what I've experienced, almost as if it was included for no reason other than the fact that the narration was universally praised within their last game.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly the reason. No almost as if about it

Also for me atleast, at feels as though they are trying to adhere to this " i wanna cool guy protagonist who doesn't talk or whatever" thing , I feels its stupid. The thing is talking to you , while yes there may be reasons for her not talking i feel as though the games narrative would have increased in quality exponentially if she could talk.

Its ok if your protagonist says words, its ok even if they say stupid words. Your gameplay is there to supplement the words.

One of my favorite video game series is about Disney and Square enix characters going on long existential monologues about light and darkness in the universe and the good and bad of the human condition.

You can make protagonist talk about hotdogs , and as long as its cool people will be ok with it. This seems less " oh shit basitian lets do that " and more " we can't have our protagonist talk because pretentious cool guy reasons even if it stilts the narrative we are pushing "

Would have been cool if they handled it like (Vampire Hunter) D and his left hand

Words fail me to describe how struggle boondocks is right now

The first two episodes were legitimate shit. The 3rd episode was legitimately good. And the 4th episode was serviceable. The show's biggest issue at this point is the focus on Robert, and lack of Huey and Riley.

I haven't listened to the newest one but the one with that porn dude on half the tracks was horrendous.

Game Theory? That was the last good one to me. Rising Down, How I Got Over, and undun had their songs but were overall boring as hell. Shoot Your Cousin is just flat out bad.

Even when I get why people are upset...damn. Like people have been fuming about it all day long.

Quiet as kept,

I'm sorry, but it really cracks me up to think of all him baiting all of these nerds into cheering and squealing for a comic book character, only to answer their enthusiasm with the notion that they're all a bunch of sad virgins.

I'm not saying it's right. Just that the situation itself - the setup and payoff got a good chuckle out of me. Kudos Goyer.

I know exactly what this guy means despite how he said it. Goyer said some stupid shit no doubt, but the fact that you're actually mad and in a way proving him right is just hilarious irony.

Dropped it at episode 3 and never looked back.

+1 gave up after the first two eps.

The end of season 3 couldn't hold my attention either.

Looking back, this season should've been the red flag but it's been so long, I've forgotten most of it.

I dropped out around that Breaking Bad parody episode. I think it was episode 3 and I can't it at the end. Pretty much agree with Moris, season 3 barely ended on a "good" note so I guess it's free falling from here

Yep

I have no idea who's idea it was to make it about robert but it was dumb.

most huey centric episodes are gold, and every riley centric episode is gold. It should have just mostly about the kids.

I look at the lack of Huey as a sign of knowing their limits. Like how Brian in Family Guy is Seth's mouthpiece for political stuff?

Huey is Aaron's mouthpiece for certain things as well. The way he handles the character seems like something that would only work well under Aaron's watch. Riley is too reckless and if not handled the right way could come off worse then just a parody of fuckery. It's too easy to fuck up Riley and Huey. Especially Huey.

Has there ever been a thread on GAF like this:

"Your favorite actress is dating a black guy. How do you feel about it?"

I would be interested just for the honest responses.

My laptop is struggling. Shit shutting off for no reason.

I feel like throwing mine out of a Window sometimes, but I'm waiting until I decide I'm done with it. Lots of other products to chose from so I want to pick the right one.

Man this laptop is shit, it just now went back to showing nothing but the BSOD after 2 weeks of it having a clean install of Windows 8.1 on it. It was running decently before today, and has caused me mostly frustration while I've had it. Anyway, I'm fucking done, $700, wasted :'(

At least it didn't happen while I had finals and shit.

You're trying to bury some gaffers I see?

if it feels so good to be wrong why would they want to be right because those people who are right seem to be unhappy when talking to those who are wrong ^_^

That's life: Trying to maintain a decent balance of truth and happiness. Too much truth and you're probably miserable, too much happiness and you're probably an ignorant idiot.

Pretty much. Although I don't necessarily agree with Riley, as I believe you just need good lines for Riley. But seeing how badly Ruckus has been handled, I just don't think the current staff is talented enough. It's too bad, because I would have gladly eaten crow from the posters going "McGruder wasn't important", etc...

Hopefully the upcoming Black Jesus show makes up for this.
