Hey Goyer

Single Green Female. Read sum.
Single female lawyer, having lots of sex.

David. Please, you don't have to keep giving me reasons not to see your films.

So, this guy is writing the first time Wonder Woman appears on the big screen?

Good thing Chris Terrio took on that script.

And yet, Drax, Gamora, Rocket, Bartoc, Groot, Ronan, Blink, and Amim Zola are all in theaters this year, while Huntress, Count Vertigo, Deathlok, Graviton, and Red Arrow were on TV recently.

Blink!

Quicksilver got in a movie before the goddamn Flash because WB thinks so little of their audience. Clearly, we draw the line at a female who can throw tanks and green men from space.

Keep fucking that chicken, Goyer.

Edit: I'd argue that She Hulk is the most empowered mainstream female superhero. Aside from Jean who is always dead, and Ororo. She's a single female lawyer for goodness sake.

*shrug*

Ummm... he's not wrong...

Edit: I mean, not in the sense that he's right that She-Hulk was about the Hulk fucking her, cause that's obviously incest. But her existence being partially fueled by male sexual fantasy... I can't disagree with that.

But that's one of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenarios. It seems that every big-named male superhero has a female version. How else would you make a female version of a huge green guy who only has ripped up (used to be pants) shorts on? I mean, what else could they do with her? I guess make her look like an ogre, maybe.

Man, that just seems like the wrong attitude to have, for someone who works in this industry, and who might someday be involved in a picture featuring said character. Why would you go out of your way to bash something that you might rely on for a paycheck someday?

That's some pre-MCU thinking, there.

This is why DC movies will be what they are, or rather, poorly received by fanbase. A fanbase btw that may be few, but have the loudest voices and DO control some of the public opinion. Just look at MOS.

Btw, just to mention it, they're cousins. Just goes to show why he couldn't write a decent superman script.

Goyer isn't too bright, it seems.

And the next best one.

And this one!....

...yeah that last one was unfortunate.

Thread is only three pages. You should have seen others beat you to this. And it does nothing to refute my statement. I read comics, too.

Damn beaten to it, and yeah I agree with you, just taking the opportunity to mention the hilarity.

I don't read nor care for comic books, but I know who Martian Manhunter is. He is the green dude with red eyes and a cape on the Justice League cartoon. I think he can read minds and go invisible.

Does she go to court as a green woman or what?

At first she went as normal Walters, then got stuck as She Hulk and now can change.

She enjoys being She Hulk than normal self. She stays as She Hulk most of the time so yes. She does go to court as Shulkie and recently just won a legal battle against Doom.

First of all, have you guys actually read anything that featured She-Hulk past the age of 13 or have you only seen cheesecake and pornographic fanart with her since then? Because I feel like if you have, you would have known that:
1.) Bruce Banner would not actually have sex with her because they’re COUSINS. This isn’t some Game of Thrones bullshit. This character was introduced as a relative and not as a love interest. Also, Bruce has gotten with women who weren’t irradiated.

2.) That Jennifer Walters has been a character with her own agency since her creation and introduction. She learned to control her powers in a way that Bruce never really has. When she can change back and forth between being green and being human looking, she often stays green because she LIKES it. Being She-Hulk gave her confidence she never had before. When she found out she couldn’t change back into being human when she was with the Fantastic Four, she just asked, “So what’s the bad news?”

SERIOUSLY. [shulkiescans.tumblr.com]

This character aspect has allowed artists to get a bit cheesecake-y with her, but it’s always been a central tenet of her character that she grew stronger from being She-Hulk. Not just physically, but mentally as well. That’s why she quickly became one of my favorite characters in the Marvel Universe and I support her amazing solo series that’s currently being written by Charles Soule. Jennifer Walters is a prime example of owning who you are and not giving a damn about how anyone else will view you.
If being confident, assertive, and being able to make her own choices as a character makes her “a giant green porn star,” then I’d REALLY hate to see what you think of the literal Amazonian goddess that’s being written into… *sigh*… Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

I’m going to continue listening to Murder By Death and go re-read the first four issues of the new She-Hulk comic. I hope you guys will feel motivated to do so after The Mary Sue called you out, but I doubt it.

Sincerely,

Ashley Leckwold

that was a joke?

I'm sorry, but it really cracks me up to think of all him baiting all of these nerds into cheering and squealing for a comic book character, only to answer their enthusiasm with the notion that they're all a bunch of sad virgins.

I'm not saying it's right. Just that the situation itself - the setup and payoff got a good chuckle out of me. Kudos Goyer.

I also like how he fundamentally misunderstands Hulk as well. Power fantasy? It's about the consequences of said power and Bruce's isolation through it.

Goyer really comes off as one of those people who never reads superhero comics but always seems to have opinions on them and how to "fix" them.

Didn't he write a pretty good JSA story one time? How the hell does someone who wrote about the JSA think She-Hulk is a shallow character and that Martian Manhunter is so obscure only some kind of socially inept freak could know who he is?

With the help from James Robinson & Geoff Johns.

People who have watched Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go?

Unfortunately he doesn't act like that in the comics, no beast boy dynamic in the new 52 :(.

I don't understand this whole debate about the public "knowing" who a certain super hero is. You can usually describe any of them in 10 words or less.
