Yeah it was pretty cool selling people cameras. Then our department would get those camera know-it-alls who think that they just need the default lens on a DSLR to take good photos of the moon (not exaggerating here).
Customer: I wanna take pictures of the moon. These cameras are good, right? *points to a $600 camera*
Coworker: Technically yeah, but you need a proper lens to go with the camera otherwise you won't get the right picture. We have one right h-"
Customer: Nah it's ok, I don't need it.
Coworker: ...um...you DO realize that you won't get anywhere NEAR what you want without this lens, right?
Customer: I won't be needing it.
Cowkorker:
*the next day*
Customer: I want a refund!
Customer Service: What's wrong?
Customer: This camera took awful pictures of the moon!
They moved me to the warehouse about 4 months ago, though. Claimed I had an attitude problem and it looked like I was
all day. Then about a month into that gig, one of the workers at LP went on vacation and I was asked to cover her. After a week, all of management were congratulating me on a job well done, and how I apparently changed my attitude and went from this
to this
in their eyes. They promoted me (and gave me a tiny raise), and now I'm in front of the store where I can actually see sunshine.
