Yeah, but if you buy them on Amazon and you want the $8 off, you have to buy Arrietty as one of the two titles. There's no such rule at Best Buy, as far as I know.
Oh well I'm buying all 3 so I didn't really think about that.

I've not seen either Arrietty or Whisper of the Heart. Love Laputa to death. Is there some reason I shouldn't buy Arrietty?
I wish I wasn't broke. ;_;Laputa, Whisper, and Arrietty are all $22.99 at Best Buy and you also get $8 off if you buy two. Each title is $29.95 on Amazon, which also has the $8 off two deal going. Best Buy is by far the better deal, and will likely be the cheapest way to get these for a while.

Whisper of the Heart is the second best Ghibli film ever. Get it.I've not seen either Arrietty or Whisper of the Heart. Love Laputa to death. Is there some reason I shouldn't buy Arrietty?
You mean the name? As in how Laputa is not part of it? Not that bad, inevitable even.Laputa US BD is dubtitled. :/

They use the dub script instead of an actual translation for the subs. What do you mean it's dubtitled?
One of these days, Hercules is going to be announced for Blu-ray, one day...

Perhaps, but it's guaranteed to not really faithful due to rewrites to fit in the sync + I think Disney wants to avoid writing out Laputa at any point, subs incl.Fuck that sucks. Basically it's the dumbed down American script where they assume American's don't know what some Japanese things are and change it?

pinocchio? that's been out already...
Thankfully.
HK version of Laputa has the proper subs and is a port of the JP video encode which have been traditionally superior. Also reasonably priced and has a superior cover. Can't go wrong unless you want the dub.Hmm...which versions of Laputa aren't dubtitled? Are the US Blu-rays of Whisper and Arrietty also dubtitled?

Purists will also appreciate the fact that the Japanese language track is accompanied by literal Japanese subtitles, rather than a straight English translation of the English dub, which is rather different.

Good thing the dub is so great. Though seriously, that sucks.Laputa US BD is dubtitled. :/
Whisper of the Heart Blu ray review
Fist pump!
EDIT: Arrietty, too!
Now I'm curious about whether Ponyo and Nausicaa also have proper subtitles...
EDIT 2: They do. Hurrah!
I almost ordered them last night. Nice! Glad I waited.
Hmm, really tempted to get Arrietty and Nausicaa now. $20 apiece should be a decent price, right?
The Great Mouse Detective will hit shelves September 18.
Interesting. Don't know if I've ever seen that one all the way through from front until the end.
Is there any kind of release schedule for the Ghibli films? These ones kind of snuck up on me.
