I was EXTREMELY luke warm on the game until I stepped into the dark zone with my buds. That alone sold the game for me.

Might be... though there appears to be some sort of horizontal "pathway" through that area.... i'm intrigued.
Just at edge of red border of beta area? Yeah, it's park. There is several large parks in playable, full release, area and most are outside of DZ.
Maybe it's underground stuff

Pretty certain you're right. Looks to be some sort of tunnel/subway system. Stoked if true. I'm hoping there is a LOT of underground stuff to explore... as well as a lot of skyscraper/tall building, floor-by-floor type of exploration in release.

Me, I just upgraded my PC but my brother and friends are on Xbox One.
Map legend + missions we did == no single "main story" mission was done
Edit: Okay, I take it back. Taking BoO might have been story mission. Klyka, you win this round!
Well, you see how each wing Mission has it's own Icon?
the missions in the beta to unlock the wings had those Icons.
there is also a security Mission in the
Police academy
power plant
wasn't "get to and secure the BoO" a main Mission?
I'll be playing on Xbox One. Temped to get the PC version but I don't have many friends who will play the game.
Red Pandas. Sometimes called "Firefoxes" IIRC.
Unless they sell out i hardly think they'll remove physical copies.

Has it been confirmed that there are more objectives in the DZ other than extractions? Game looks great and I'll still be buying it, but it'll be nice to know that there's more to do.

There will be mission objectives and some extremely hard objectives in the DZ that you will need friends for... Nothing else has been said beyond that.
