I don't know if this is a bug or not, but I can't remove custom markers from the map. I don't see the option to. It drives me crazy that I have to keep an old marker on the map that I don't need anymore.

I don't know about this junior thing, but I usually don't worry about grammar so much when I'm posting at a video game forum.

And I was "juniored". I've been posting here forever, and have posted so much stupid stuff that I'm actually in the top 20 or so lifetime.

Don't worry junior, I'll give you a piggy-back ride on my ox-strong Member title so that these hooligans will hassle you no more!

Have you tried just placing a new marker somewhere random? Should come up with options to move/remove etc. It's annoying that the only way to remove markers is to try and create a new one.

One thing that I noticed is that the difficulty is a lot better (on adept) than it ever was in Oblivion. It's still mostly easy - but there are certain encounters which really remind you not to get too cocky.

This. I tend to relax somehow and then run into some snow tiger or a powerful draugh/imperial/necromancer. These 1 on 1 fights are incredible. I have to reload a few times to try out different tactics to survive.

Click somewhere else and select "remove marker".

Bah just lost a companion somehow when I triggered the quest to kill that first dragon at the western watchtower. Now she isn't around and I'm encumbered. :< Not to mention she was holding a bunch of my loot. I figured she was just gone during that scripted sequence since you have several companions for the dragon fight, but she ain't back.

I know how you feel. I have a few candidates already and want to lock that shit down. Then again, I've only explored one city and one village...and Falkreath, which has a Jarl yet no walls and only a few houses so I'm still not sure if it's a major city.

Whiterun:

- obviously the greymane blonde from the first screenshots that were published...hello
- Ygroda (?) or whatever, the merchant who seems uncomfortably obsessed with khajiits and asks for a mammoth tusk, which just tells me she's a FREAK in a good way
- the Redguard chick who pulls a knife on you just for talking to her...I like it...and her scar is cute

Riverwood

- Ralof's sister - I'll kill her husband if I need to
- the barmaid who the elf and bard are in love with...just because it would be funny

Where is she? We need to keep the redgaurd bloodline strong. I also think she is part of a quest.

You know, I have only had a few bugs in my time with every Bethesda game, all together.

Less than 10.

But I'm getting a lot more bugs in this.

For example, Sinding.
he was supposed to go to his lair after I met with Hircine. But he was still in the cell...in the mooonlight...and had turned into a werewolf. So there he was, roaring and circling inside. I thought this was normal, so I just stood at the unlockable dor and shot flames in at him.

You know that tavern when you first walk into Whiterun, that's up a slight hill? There's a dark elf girl there with yellow facepaint?

Yeah, not that one.

There's another one near the market that I had never even stepped into. She's there. She's the cute black chick with short hair and a scar.

Same thing happened to me with the Elv. Either fasttravel and check if she is back or go to place where you got her. She most likely isnt dead.

Later on there is a question where someone goes with you. If you have a companion at the same time she/he will go to their home/where you can hire them.

I'm really enjoying the Skyrim world, but so far I haven't seen the kinds of strange, surprising scenarios I loved in Oblivion and Fallout3. It's been pretty standard fantasy fare.

But the game is so huge, I've only seen a small piece.

Go into Items and set it as a favourite and then when you're in the game hit up/down on d-pad to go into favs and equip it.

Thanks. One last thing: can you zoom in while using the bow and arrow?

There's a perk that lets you, and one that slows time while you zoom.

It just happened to me for the second time that I got to some point in a dungeon that was simply too hard for me at my current level (playing on expert). I also got one-shotted when I was stupid enough to provoke giants are mammoths. I'm loving it, for me these experiences more than anything else show just how much better this game is fundamentally than Oblivion.

Seriously, three awesome games which are good in what they do but are too different to compare.
Well, if you are interested. Same specs. Skyrim runs so good, looks so gud, is open world and HUGE.
Witcher 2 retail version. RAN LIKE SHIT. Also AA did not work. I only play on the hardest setting. Died like 10 times at the fire/drag starting scene. Uninstall after 2 hours. Cu.

I think someone else already said this, but the horses in this game are like...sucky. Also, I don't know if Bethesda did this on purpose but getting to the base of the throat of the world is a bitch, because you have to go all the way around the largest mountain in the game and find vague roads. Also, if I'm accepting a quest in Whiterun why would they put whatever I'm doing in the quest on the other side of the entire freaking map? It's like a quest giver says, "Help me do this," and then the location is 10 miles away. It's not right. Still a very nice game though.

Oh SHIT so companions can die?!

Was fighting a dragon and turned to check where Lydia was and she was on her knees, hunched over. I walked up to her and I found I could loot her.

Game needs a "press X to close your comrade's eyelids and offer a silent prayer".

Nah, fuck it, I reloaded. ha

I still haven't bought a horse yet. I've got so much to do and...

Also lucky you for already "winning" so you can actually relax and play Skyrim occasionally. ;) I'm still working up the strength to kill half my characters as we go into week 3 of NaNo.

Yeah it's just annoying though because I just picked up these heavy ass bones and other gear from the dragon and I'm way over-encumbered so I can't fast travel. :p

I was gonna get rid of the companion soon enough, anyway, because like the companions in F3/NV she's just too damn strong. I gave her an Ancient Nord War Axe and she murders the shit out of everything even on Master. They're just so useful to have around as mules to carry your stuff but they're probably too effective in combat.

Rented the game and this is my first Elder Scrolls game, but so far I love it.

Quick Questions:

I'm playing on console and is there any way to switch weapons without having to go to the items menu? Furthermore, can I switch to magic w/o having to do the same?

press Y or Triangle to add to favorites. Then press up in Dpad to look at favorited items. Its a quick switch

AFAIK they die if they get knocked to the ground a second or third time in one fight.
Lydia died for me as well. In a fkn hard dungeon .. was so hard to kill the boss and get out alive without her lol. Went back and wanted to ask for a Lydia v2.0 - didn´t get one. Bought another bitch for 500 gold. Good life.

Reloading sucks!

My companion has done that too but she gets up eventually and keeps fighting. Shes a tough bitch

One thing I do like about the game is that it offers up an appropriately chilly atmosphere. I will be back later, though. I have to fulfill my three negative comments to one positive quota.

Without spoiling any of the story for me can someone tell me what I use dragon bones for?
Crafting. But i sold the first few bones and stuff. Enough dragons to hunt for everyone!

I spend most harder battles currently just healing Lydia and keeping my summons up.

I didn't want to get into this since it's stupid to even try and compare the games, particularly when no one has yet completed Skyrim, but I can't help commenting on this. "I only play on the hardest difficulty"? Really now? (Also, opinions can differ on everything and all that, but Witcher 2 is graphically far superior to Oblivion. As it should be considering its smaller scope)

Have i completely overlooked something? because these mages completely fuck my shit up every encounter, doesnt matter where i can run in and clean house without taking any damage but once a caster comes up it whoops my ass.

Oh man, I just saved, turned the game off, and left at this part. Just about to embark on this very journey. Should be an adventure.

Only spent 4 hours playing so far today and I'm liking it for the most part. Kinda strange not picking a class in the beginning, and arrow flight path took some time to get used to but I'm digging it now. Don't understand why people said arrows would be rarer, I've had no problem finding some.

Also do most locations that aren't friendly have the "complete" label? I cleared out some bandit stronghold but it isn't marked clear, while the first main story dungeon is marked clear. What exactly marks the location as cleared anyways?

I don't know which class I should pick... I've installed the game, and I'm just about to open it for the first time.

I... I... I always go Knights, but the Witcher has changed the way I feel, and I think I want to go a Bow specialist in this game... but I just don't know :/

Please? Someone asked twice how people felt and I told him. Did I ever say Witcher 2 looked worse? No, because that would not be true. But it ran bad/unsmooth for me. Excuse me for that.

And explain to me, if you want with a pm, why it is stupid to like a challenge. I allways turn up the difficulty. And my Witcher experience was this:
Theres a scripted scene with a dragon. I have no gear. I can´t dodge his fire. I die. Thats not my fault. It simply was a bad tutorial and it got me frustrated. So I stopped playing.

Really, whats your problem to call me stupid ?

Go into Items and set it as a favourite and then when you're in the game hit up/down on d-pad to go into favs and equip it.

You can also set two of your favorites with right and left on the d-pad so you can switch on the fly without pulling up the menu.

Example:

I have a sword and a bow in my favorites. When you bring up the favorite menu click left or right on the d-pad and a number will appear next to a weapon. Now I can switch weapons in real time without bringing up any menu by hitting left or right on the d-pad in game.

Add them to your favorites and press UP on the d-pad during play.. This works with spells and shouts

Horses aren't bad. Remember to hold ALT on PC to make them sprint (and you as well). They also go a bit faster on roads.

I am stuck on all my current quest because all contain magic users and i swear i must of overlooked something, i have no problem killing anything but them, they literally blast me away in 3 hits and the ice wraiths pretty much wreck me as well.
