I get bored pretty easily. I liked fallout 3, but at some point I just get tired with the never ending 'YOU CAN DO EVERYTHING' and just want to finish the story. So good gameplay mechanics that keep you interested is probably the number one req for me.

Actually, I can already buy some Dark Souls 2nd handed for 30/35 euro's or so, so I'll guess I'll get that and wait for Skyrim until the price drops- or can get that one 2nd handed as well.

Still, I'm interested in hearing your opinions, those who've now played both.

I wish Steam doesn't suck up the whole internet while trying to download stuff (pre-loading in this case). I respect my roommates too much to do this to them............

I'd wait for the Goty edition of Skyrim if you don't have an internet connection. That should include the patches that you're missing out on now.

A bit of all of those. You step outside, and there's no real "introduction" moment. You can't really see much besides trees and a mountain, too. There's no special music or anything, either.

But yeah, once you get further into the world, your jaw will drop. Mine did when I laid eyes upon Whiterun.

And the 360 version runs fantastically. Little to no bugs, no tearing (except in the opening sequence and the map). Some low-res textures here and there, but that's the same with the PS3.

A shame, the first step outside in Fallout 3 was brilliant.

I'm looking at the Skyrim files on pc (from the preload, they're encrypted of course still), and it does indeed seem like they removed the raw music files from data folder.

Interestingly, there's also a folder called DirectX10.

If I played through The Witcher 2 with satisfying results, I should be able to play this with more than just satisfying results, right?

And Fallout New Vegas runs more or less flawlessly (framerate suffers only slightly every now and then).

That's the only thing that annoys me about pc gaming. Constantly worried that I'm going to have a game run worse than the console counterpart, despite having better hardware.

Downloaded the PC-version from Direct2drive via webbrowser. The problem im having is when I start setup, accepts the license agreement to install it nothing happens. Have someone else this problem? I have restarted my computer but the same thing it wont install the game.

My copy just got dispatched, probably won't be able to play it until Friday though because Steam won't unlock it until then.

Can't wait to play, I installed Oblivion again this week and played that again to get me in the mood.

Has it been confirmed whether or not the game is releasing at midnight PST everywhere? I know there were some rumors earlier about it releasing at midnight everywhere regardless of timezone (in the US).

This is the definition of videos I can barely get through because of how awkward and embarrassing it all is. Turn audio off and just skip around is my best bet usually.

For the US, it's midnight EST, so you'll get it at 9pm PST

I just went with Steam. Did a bit of research and I don't want to risk ending up with a Russian version. LTTP on this subject but Skyrim is only 5,854MB?

Deleted the response re: the region-exploiting key reseller websites. Reference the thread below for more information before you buy from somewhere like that, and everyone needs to keep in mind that because of all the potential issues with purchases from these sites, don't link them outside of the thread below, ESPECIALLY not just recommending them without even talking about things like needing to deal with things like Russian language menu navigation, needing to download external language packs for Steam, region-locked DLC from certain publishers, etc. etc.

Does anyone know what page that Oblivion mod guide was posted on? I've decided to start a new game in Oblivion in order to pass the time, but goddamn it has not aged well at all.

Only in french, that's why i don't want the italian version of the game (now avaible in my local store). The L.E. is only in english, and that's why i preorder that from Gamestop (who start selling the game in friday)

Damn, are there other 360 games that are mono language like this? Even Fallout 3 was multi languages.

I suppose the PS3 has multiple language thanks since it's not a dvd?
